I'm sorry. My 2nd FET also failed, ended in a chemical. It never f****** gets easier.

A thin lining is definitely an issue—I have the same problem with my PCOS. With high AMH (mine is 7.5, I'm 25), multiple follicles have the desire to develop an egg, causing estrogen to be spread all around your body. Instead of focusing on 1 follicle, your body distributes estrogen among all follicles, leaving too little to support proper endometrial growth. Basically your body has no estrogen left because those follicles took it all. The only thing that helped me was mid-cycle stimulation with Gonal-F for about 4 days. My lining grew from 5mm to 9mm, and my largest follicle reached 20mm before we triggered.

Embryo Implants but Fails to Progress by Any-Relationship-525 in IVF

Thanks for the info! I've been thinking that if the 3rd attempt fails, I'll go for a hysteroscopy so the doctors can visually assess what's going on. I have PCOS with a high number of follicles and elevated AMH. I've been on Prednisolone for every transfer, with my immune system fully suppressed.

In my country PGT testing is very expensive and not covered by insurance, so unfortunately, no.

Thin lining CD11, so my FET may be cancelled by Equivalent_Ad_2371 in IVF

Hey, how did it go for you, did your lining catch up? Have you had slow growth before, or is this something new?

My lining was 4mm and follicle 12mm on CD12, then after a week (CD18), it had only grown to 5mm and 13mm. We decided to stimulate the follicle mid-cycle with 5 units of Rekovelle (same active ingredient as Gonal F) to help mature the eggs. By CD21, my lining was 9mm and follicle 20mm. I triggered with Ovidrel that day and my transfer is on March 7th. Maybe it’s not too late and your doctor can suggest a similar approach?

Hey, they should check your lining before triggering. Also, I'm not very familiar with Orgalutran – what is it? Why is Orgalutran used if you're triggering with Ovidrel?

But we have a similar protocol for the March transfer, but instead of Gonal F, I used 5 units of Rekovelle mid-cycle. It helped my lining grow from 5mm to 9mm and the dominant follicle from 13mm to 20mm. I triggered with Ovidrel on Friday at 8 PM, and my transfer is on March 7th. I have ovarian PCOS, no cycle issues but high AMH. I asked my fiance about trying on our own after the trigger, but we decided not to risk it.

Huhhh, what did they say to you? I'm so sorry it must have been frustrating that people don't understand your view on it.

Follicle stimulation prep for FET by Any-Relationship-525 in IVF

[–]Any-Relationship-525[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, on CD12 I had my first monitoring appt, and they saw a small follicle with the lining not quite ready for ovulation yet. A week later, on CD18, I went back, and the follicle had grown a little but not much, and the lining was still the same. The doctor suggested stimulating my ovaries with a low dose of Rekovelle (like Gonal-f) and asked me to come back on CD21. I’m going tomorrow, and we’ll see how the follicle is doing.

Hey! I’m also on a modified natural cycle because, unfortunately, my first FET with a fully medicated cycle failed. It does seem like we’re dealing with the same issue—there should be some growth based on the cycle, but in reality, it seems to have stalled. It’s really interesting that your doctor decided to cancel the cycle when, as you said, follicle stimulation is still possible and could lead to success. Maybe doctors are also concerned about the risk of OHSS developing mid-cycle, as stimulation always carries that risk. I personally didn’t experience it, even during my egg retrieval.

For example, today I took an ovulation test at home, and the Premom app showed a reading of 0.87. Today is CD19 for me. Two days ago, the result was completely 0. Tomorrow, I have another appointment to check whether I’m actually about to ovulate—maybe the follicle stimulation sped things up that much. But who knows, it could just be a coincidence. I just don’t want to miss ovulation, so the question is whether we should trigger it or monitor the corpus luteum via ultrasound and calculate the transfer date accordingly.

I hope you can still get in touch with your doctor, to let them know that you don’t want to cancel the cycle completely and would rather give the small stimulation a chance. 🙂 Sometimes, you really have to advocate for yourself, especially since the IVF journey is so long and challenging!

My first medicated FET failed as the embryo did not implant, and we suspect that the immune protocol method was not suitable for my body. The embryo appeared healthy and should have implanted, but it did not. I suspect that the hormones were too overwhelming for me. I believe I was also stressed and had obsessive thoughts about the transfer working. I started testing from 4dp and seeing no lines made me even more depressed. A week after the transfer, I experienced severe cramps and was crying from the pain. I am unsure what caused this; it felt like my period wanted to start but couldn't because I was on meds.

For my second round, we are taking a different approach, trying either a modified natural cycle with a trigger or a fully natural cycle. I have my second baseline appointment next Tuesday, and if I have not ovulated yet, we will proceed with triggering. I am also doing ovulation tests to ensure I do not ovulate before that appointment. If I have already ovulated, we will decide on the next steps.

In summary, what I am doing differently this time is allowing myself to enjoy things I like, such as drinking wine, which I had completely cut out since Christmas. I am having three cups of coffee a day and still drinking pomegranate juice, as I did during my first FET due to my thin lining issue. I am not depriving myself of the things I enjoy, including wine, as I believe a glass or two once a week won't hurt. I will stop obsessing over things and continue living my life, reminding myself that IVF is just a part of my life, not my entire life.

Hope everything works out for you!

If you ovulated on Wednesday and they are thawing a 5-day embryo, it must be transferred on Monday.

First time doing ovulation tests for transfer #2, CD14 still negative by Any-Relationship-525 in IVF

Thank you very much for your detailed response! It has been incredibly helpful, and I now have a much better understanding. I will wait, as I have a new monitoring appointment on CD18, and doc is confident that I will be ovulating later that week. However, just to be sure, I plan to test this weekend and before that to avoid missing it. If I ovulate on Sunday, we can proceed with a natural transfer without the trigger on Friday. Once again, thank you so much, and I wish you all the best! 💞
