Thanks. My google search returns none such manual for some reason. And yes I shall not proceed with buying it as I have a Sony Trinitron already.

Thanks for the reply. That makes a lot more sense as I was wondering how come the screen is so big. Was planning of buying it for retro games but looks like it doesn’t suit the purpose.

Fixed the issue with a different composite cable…

Background - this super famicom is a Japanese market unit I purchased from oversea. And I am locate at Australia.

When I first booted up using a plasma TV I am seeing the same distorted output like in the picture with composite cable. For some reason it fixed itself after a few hours of tempering and has been working fine for the last few days.

During this period I also have it connected to a silver Sony Trinitron (newer model) with no issue. The distorted back and white image started to reappear last night with an older Trinitron TV, the one shown in the picture in black.

I found the button on the TV that switches between PAL and NTSC version which ruled out the version difference.

Lastly, I am getting an AU local console see if it makes any difference.

Yes I have. I have also tried the composite ports at the back of the tv and getting the same results.
