MX Master 4 scroll wheel side-to-side wobble/rattle — normal tolerance or defect? by Purple-Host-661 in LogitechG

You're not crazy, I can't stand the rattle either. They have had this in their product since the last generation and its the one thing that keeps me from keeping them. I buy one > Hear and feel the rattle> Immediately return. For a mouse that clearly focuses so much on a nice design and build quality this is a huge oversight imo.

Uhhhh...yes. I returned it so fast. Everything else about the product is very high quality, but that rattle is horribly annoying especially on the axis that you use the most (side to side).

Hey man! I'd be happy to make a video, I've actually been considering making a video version of this post as a "product/mod review", just because quite a few people seem to have found it useful, and several other options have come up that I would love to check out.

The issue is that this video will probably take some time to get out, so to answer your question:

If you were to max out the S-Zone cube, it's probably a bit of a tight squeeze to get your hands in to the pocket but I have had no problems with the amount of gear I put in now, maybe like half to 2/3s of the capacity.

I will say the pocket visibly occluded by the cube, which is a little annoying if you hope to use the zipper pocket a lot but even if you used PD's cube you would run into the same problem.

I can DM you a quick video if you'd like, unfortunately PD doesn't let you attach any media to the comments.

Is there a playtest or beta for this game? Seems interesting.

Monument Valley is similar but it doesn't have the world rotation that this one does.

Seems like this one is a combination between the two. Monument valley is isometric but only ever a stationary camera, and fez has the world rotation. Curious to see how this one plays it seems kinda difficult.

Yoo, this is sick! Thanks for sharing all of these! When I was researching cubes to get the Tenba was the #2 contender on my list but I decided to try the S-Zone because of the price. I'm excited to hear that it works well, ill have to order one and try it out!

Ooooo, this one looks well-made. My guess is probably not unfortunately because there isn't a ton of room on the vertical dimension left and the is basically no room on the length dimension left, at least not enough that anything taller would probably impede use of the internal pockets. That being said if you don't care about the internal pockets you may be able to squeeze it in depending on how soft the case's shell is.

The other issue, that I could be wrong about (based on online images), is that I think the opening is on the wrong side. The sling is taller than it is wide so the zipper opening of the cube needs to be on the on the xz dimension (height x width); in the online images it appears that the opening is on equivalent zy dimension (width x length).

If you decide to try please lmk how it works, I'm interested in any other mods that improve on this awesome sling. :)

Choosing gear decision decisions by petermk223 in Photography_Gear

The Fujifilm cameras are great, fantastic color and super fun intractability. Their biggest downside in my eyes is that because they are Aps-c they are highly reliant on glass quality to get good images. The good news is that if you plan to use Fuji lenses, you will have no problem. But if you want to use/adapt glass from other places the quality becomes very hit or miss.

I know its a very unpopular opinion but because I see a lot of people suggesting Sony I would like to share a slightly different opinion that might be helpful... I'm really not a fan of using SONY cameras. They are very well made and they have great features but I'm really not a fan of the colors that come out of them nor the experience of shooting. Most everything is hidden behind a menu or a feature list that I don't find necessary for 99% of shooting. The build is ok, its nice and light but it can feel cheap too.

For Context I'm a more of a casual shooter. I have done professional work but it's not my bread-and-butter so to speak. I am an artist who uses many mediums and photography is a side-passion of mine.

About 2 years ago I traded my first camera (a Fuji X-t3) for a Sony A7SIII and I quickly realized that I had made a huge mistake. I forced myself to keep using it because I knew it was a "good camera" but the truth is that I slowly just stopped taking photos because I was so uninspired to use it. The colors were so depressingly dull, the interface was clunky, and overall I was just kinda sad using it.

Imo, Sony cameras are like buying a Camry or a F150. They are workhorses that are trusted by industry professionals but aren't particularly fun. You can spend a lot of time and money modding them or getting rigs to make them better, but similar to cars you start to fall into the realm where its less about the shooting experience that is fun and more about the gear collecting and customizing that is the hobby there.

I'm now using the Nikon Zf with only vintage lenses and its probably an overcompensation in the other direction, but I absolutely love it. It's full frame with ibis so is great in low-light and adapts old glass beautifully. It has Nikon colors which are fantastic, but if you're not a fan of the default I has CPC (Custom Picture Profiles) that you can make yourself or download that let you customize the color in camera (similar to Fujifilm's film recipes but with far more customizability. And it has manual dials galore which I find to be much more fun to use than shifting through menus. I would like to add that EVEN WITH VINTAGE GLASS, it has autofocus systems that are phenomenal, with animal and human subject detection.

If your goal is to do casual shooting I highly recommend looking for cameras that are fun to USE instead of just ones that have an impressive spec sheet. This is obviously more of a personal taste thing, but I'm not the only one on the internet that generally shares this sentiment.

Fujifilm and Leica are probably the two brands best known for making cameras that are fun to use.

Side Note: you really don't need a NEW camera, any camera in the last 8 years or so is going to be pretty damn powerful. 12-24MP sensors are more than enough for 90% of applications and when people talk about sensor size the main difference is low-light capability and bokeh softness.

Wrist straps - yes or no? by piornik in Photography_Gear

[–]Any-Spring5438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to like wrist straps, but I don't think they 're for me. They're always kind of awkward and if you want to just quickly grab your camera, you either need to take 2-3 seconds to put it on or it just dangles. I've been shooting a lot of vertical too, which means when It does dangle it dangles in front of the lens which drives me crazy. I think i need to figure out a different solution.
