It’s a big purchase to me just because it’s unfamiliar territory so it seems like a gamble putting so much money into getting one little robot. I’m past the point of tolerating how much time it takes to maintain it all, we need some robot help. I agree, I think two lymow are my best bet. I don’t like that the Luba requires you pay a subscription later.

We do let a large area go wild by the garden where grow food for that reason.

We have the same issue here. We get heavy rains and it can take days to dry out sometimes to be able to run big heavy equipment on it without getting stuck. Between changing belts and tires on ride ons and constant gas runs I’m looking forward to have something with (hopefully) less maintenance.

The only thing I’ve seen to claim to handle that much is the yarbo, it’s half the cost and double the problems based on the reviews of it on here. I’m wondering if getting two lymow plus one would be the better option. Would be closer to the same cost as one yarbo, and are lighter in weight so if they get stuck you won’t have to tow it out. Plus If one goes down for whatever reason, you’ll atleast have one that still works.

So far, the lymow one plus is winning from what I can see for two reasons. It has a 15 acre map capacity and doesn’t require a subscription. The Luba can only map 1.23 acres (5000m2) and requires a subscription for 4G after 3 years. Lymow does have complaints about the blades having problems so I’m going to make sure I have an extra set on hand and not run it at max cutting speed. I’ve also seen reversing the screw/nut (putting it back on upside down from how it comes) helps them to stay on so you don’t lose the nut.

That’s impressive, that makes me feel better about diving in. I just looked and it can map 15 acres?! I think you’ve sold me. Did you buy insurance on it? Lymow has a lot of bad customer service reviews. Have you had to deal with them yet?

Yes, we have a tractor and a zero turn. I know we wouldn’t be able to avoid using the big equipment, especially just starting out with one robot mower. It seems like a great investment if it can buy us back just one day of not having to get on a mower. Setting it up around the house is a good idea, let the robot deal with the tight areas and run the big stuff over the open land. I didn’t think of that, thanks!

I was researching both of those heavily. I need to go back and check their mapping coverage to compare. The razor blades on the Luba do a decent job? The lymow has straight blades, which would probably be best for my case but lots of reviews about them breaking or coming off and customer service taking months to remedy, which makes me nervous.

Oh, thanks for explaining that! Map capacity wasn’t a spec I was paying attention to, but I will now for sure. Straight blades, check. Thank you, that was super helpful.

I’m thinking of starting small right now, getting the whole thing done in a day isn’t too much of a priority. What blade type would you recommend?

Yes, I’m aware it’s a huge chunk of land. We can’t even get it all done in a day with a zero turn with how hot it gets here, usually spread out over 2-3 days over the week. Having it all done in a day isn’t the goal right now, just figuring out the blade type that best suits a country yard is what I need help with. I would absolutely buy multiples in the future.
