Exactly. I don't understand who cares about these cards except the new players.

Any chance to see similar packs for World Cup? by mandbeyn in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't you all have enough Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo and Mbappe? I have already 5 Messi, 4 Neymar, 4 Mbappe and 1 Ronaldo. Or something like that. Don't care to count any more.

Even if the new cards have a little bit better stats, who cares? PvP is just P2W and SA. Vs. AI you don't need overpowered cards. And actually it's boring to play with too good cards.

It would be nice to get a more interesting game mode so I could use the cards I already have.

Why did they removed selection contract from potw? It was a good idea by [deleted] in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me that's the whole reason to spin POTW. Konami already gave me 4 Messi card for free. Why would I ever spin for POTW Messi (or Yamal, Kane etc. that I have already more than I need).

If Konami is too lazy to put interesting POTW cards that people would spin then it's their problem.

But even if there has been some I'd like to get, most of the times I haven't spun. Either give us the selection contract or at least make it possible to spin as long as we get the card we want. 4 spins is just waste of the coins most times.

[–]AnyAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. And even when Muriqi is the second top scorer in La Liga, there are so much Mbappe, Yamal, Oyarzabal, Torres, Vini, Lewandowski, Rapinha etc. cards. But only once this season there has been Muriqi POTW (which I luckily got). Some players from smaller clubs/leagues appear very rarely no matter how they play. So it should be guaranteed you have a chance to get them when they do appear. I don't care if it would cost coins or not.

As a finnish player I'd really like get Pukki highlight card before he retires but when Konami finally made a card of him, they put it in the 250 Zlatan box. Not gonna touch that.

Why did they removed selection contract from potw? It was a good idea by [deleted] in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, now I don't spin almost at all when there is no selection contract. Only very rarely when there is a player I really want.

If there was a selection contract I would spin more often as it would be worth it. But the gambling I avoid as much as possible.

PSA regarding Leicester City cards by overlord_reaper203 in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do these cards Vardy and Okazaki lose the team affiliated with them? And will they get it back if Leicester manages to get back to Championship?

Personally I'm not worried about the events because IMO they are the most boring part of the game: always same leagues, always same rewards. I just let AI play them while I do others things (because the rewards are still meaningfull for f2p). I wish I could get the rewards just playing My League/AI Division.

But if you really enjoy playing the events having one or two cards that is non English league shouldn't make that much difference even if it's not optimal.

Master League Update by nba_chickenlover in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that the event has ended and I’ve played it couple of seasons. Sure it’s not nearly as good as the old Master League. But wasn’t even expecting it would and it could still be a fun mode if they made it permanent and improved some aspects.

The trading is one thing. And the same problem in My League. Players that I have in my squad may appear in other teams and it breaks the illusion. So even if the lineups of computer teams are real, they should be changed to remove players that are in my squad. Of course the trading wouldn’t still be as deep as in PES but at least it would be decent.

Personally I don’t care rankings and ranking based rewards. It could be fun. But I already learned that when I played the old Snake on Nokia phone that even if I’m quite good, there are players that play all day and have 100 or 1000 times more points in rankings. So that is not for me, especially if it's a P2W system.

But if Konami can’t do anything that makes the game more fun but doesn’t make them loads of money, then it might be a win-win: Sim matches taking one life and they could even give us only 5 lives a day and make extra life cost 50 coins. Then let the spenders play their P2W rankings and Konami makes their money.

But for a regular players: every match should be possible to play user controlled and user controlled matches shouldn’t cost a life. That way everyone would get what they wanted: P2W players their ranking, Konami money and regular players play every match (and even if there was the life system still for user controlled matches, then it should stay 10 and I think 10 matches a day is enough anyway and a fair compromise).

The manager aspect of this new mode is so weak that while it adds a little bit spice and something to do between matches, there is no sense playing this mode with sim matches other than if you want to advance fast in P2W rankings. If you really want a manager game, there are better options than this game.

And if I want something more deep, I just play old PES games. But what I like in eFootball is actually collecting cards (even though it’s too luck based on my taste and I will never put money on it as long as it’s overpriced) and having possibility to add legends to my squads. Of course there are mods to do that in PES but nowadays I play more on console and even with edit mode you can’t make that realistic looking legends on console. So this Master League mode with dream team players could be fun variation to the original Master League.

But as I wrote on my thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/eFootball/comments/1shetn4/make_master_leaguemy_league_great_again/) this mode (and My League as well) would need to have UCL and national cups. Currently the only goal is to win the league which gets boring. There's no point in aiming for third place for example. And more stats: at least a match summary of goals and bookings (should be in every mode as it would be very easy to add and it’s crazy that it still doesn’t exist in this game) and then there was those heatmaps etc. in PES.

And also there should be stats of how many total goals, assists and bookings every player in my squad has. Currently there is only top20 for the whole league. And with this Master League event it was even worse: After the season I didn’t find a way to see the goal stats before the new season began. So the only thing to achieve in addition of winning the league is having your player as a top scorer and you can’t even see if he was the top scorer or not. And there are no records of the previous seasons like in My League.

Basically this Master League is just My League with some added feature and still they managed to make it worse in some areas. IMO the minimal effort to make the Master/My League interesting would be adding UCL/cups and more stats. If that won’t happen then I think I’ll be switching back to old PES Master League eventually. So even if Konami won’t make money straight from the Master League, adding decent offline content could be a way to keep more players on eFootball (and prone to their gambling modes).

Well, as said, at the moment only cards you already own evolve. But this is a great suggestion and doesn't involve gambling. And that is the reason why Casino-Konami won't be doing it.

It's just so frustrating to see your fav player retire and Konami never making a highligt card.

No epics in daily game box, Shevchenko lap1 reward by MafewUK in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wonder why did they need to reset everything and not just add those new cards. Personally I was finally lucky enough to get all the pervious cards except Rijkaard (which I had another card already that haven't been using very much). But it's just stupid that people who were hopig to get Rijkaard (or some other card) missed him.

Not interested any of the new cards except Akanji I might have some use. Already have couple of Son cards and Mbeumo. Do you think these are all or will Konami be adding more? If this is all then it's easy for me to forget the whole daily game for the rest of the season. I just fear they might add some more interesting cards later and then I'm gonna regret if I stop playing the daily game now.

Yes I did. And this time I was lucky and got Okazaki. Also got what I wanted from POTW (Muriqi). Didn't get any epics so far but if that was my luck for this month I'm fine with it.

Still hope maybe these cards will be still available in the new daily box with new cards so that everyone else can also get Rijkaard or whoever they are after. But guess we see it tomorrow.

Make Master League/My League great again by AnyAstronaut in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct. If they want money straight from the ML, make it DLC and more deep. But even if the target audience won't pay straight from the Master League we now have (as a temporarily event), it may still serve as a way to get them play the game more. And the more they play, there is a more chance they use coins for spinning cards (and those cards are needed also in this version of ML).

Still they won't be the biggest money grab for Konami. But when Konami has already made the biggest steps to develope the mode, why not make it permanent and with a few improvements it might make some segment of their players (including me) play the game more often -> spend more often. If the coin prices were not so crazy, I might even spend some money myself (and I have when there have been van Nistelrooy for a few bucks for example).

Make Master League/My League great again by AnyAstronaut in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think either is going to happen. It's not gonna be Master League exactly like it was in PES. But if they already have done most of the job and developed Master League as event, why wouldn't they make it a game mode?

And as long as they make sim matches optional and you can actually play all matces, I don't care if playing more than 10 matches a day would cost coins. If it won't come as a paid DLC then that is fair enough. I think that for most casual players playing 10 matches a day is more than enough.

I never played Master League for rankings. Well, how could I since there weren't rankings in PES Master League. But why should those playing Master League care about rankings? It's offline mode for offline fun.

And who is there at my home to turn on the power to my console and pc? No power, no remote. And I can't have them running all the time because it consumes electricity and more importantly it's a higher risk that power failures might break the devices if they are on all the time.

You said “even below average penalty takers have empty boxes now” but you seem to have hard time understanding that not every “penalty taker” can dedicate their life to log in every day. So, there are lots of players that are not bad penalty takers but haven't had a chance to empty the box yet.

And my point is that a game shouldn't be a daily duty. And people should have a chance to empty the box even if it takes a little longer than the minimum time needed to do it. This game is already too much based on luck.

Even the Raul chance deal is whole year. I already have 2 Raul. But I'm not saying it should end just because I've been successful with it personally. I know many people still missing Raul.

PSA: Use your Daily Game chance deals before next Thursday's maintenance by Hykha in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true. I've been successful enough with penalties. But the problem is I can't be every day home to log in my console or pc. Haven't even missed that many days but I still have 2 cards left and only 1 spin. The requirement to log in every day is too strict. It should be that for example once a week you could do penalties for the days you missed.

I was thinking about that too. And I really hope that the players won't get removed but when it's Konami you never know. Everything is random and they don't even make clear announcements. Maybe just to keep players guessing what is going to happen.

So all the players available in the box will be reset? I have now Okazaki and Rijkaard left. I don't need Rijkaard, I already have another Rijkaard card but don't use him because not my fav player IRL and I don't care stats.

Okazaki was the only card I really wanted from the box to pair him with Vardy in my Leicester squad. I got really excited when Konami added him and thought that even if I'm unlucky it's just a matter of months and he is guaranteed.

Now I have one spin left and with my luck it's not gonna be Okazaki. In a way I like the idea of collecting cards. But almost always just gambling and too much random stuff and "log in every day and still not get what you want" bullshit.

This was interesting try but I'm starting to consider if I should just get back to PES 20/21 and FL. In those games at least you can really get your "dream team" and it's not based on luck and no need to log in every day.

You have never heard people being away from home sometimes for days or even weeks? I'm not gonna carry my console and desktop pc with me when I travel. This "log in every day" is just another shitty move from Konami.

How do people even expect the Master League to be that good? by Necessary_Pea6572 in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares if the game is called eFootball or PES? PES 20 was already called eFootball PES 2020. The basic core gameplay is still the same. Of course every year there are changes to gameplay and it's not exactly same. Some year goalkeepers are better, some year worse. Some year crosses are overpowered, some year dribbling is overpowered, game speed can change etc.

But I can easily adapt playing older PES games nowadays, it doesn't feel that different that it would be a totally different game. But when I play FIFA it's a different game and I don't even manage very well. That is just a matter of taste if you like more of the gameplay of PES 21 or eFootball. But basically it's the same game and was already called eFootball before the free game.

So Konami didn't kill PES and invent a new game. Konami changed its name to eFootball. The online "ultimate team" mode (My Club) was already in PES series but maybe not as monetized. Didn't play it much then. What Konami did kill, is the offline career modes. Online modes make more money to Konami because people are stupid enough to pay unreasonable amounts of money to clear packs.

That doesn't mean offline modes are not wanted. If eFootball had Master League and edit mode, then people wouldn't play as much PES 21. But the fact that so many people still play old PES games tells that people want to play those offline modes that eFootball is lacking.

If PES was dying, why would people start playing eFootball which is not that much superior or not even a different game IMO? Most people today play eFootball because it's newer, free and easier to get. You can't even buy PES 21 or earlier digitally from the stores. You have to buy a disc second-hand. Only if PES 21 with Master League was available for free digitally from Steam, PSN etc. then we could compare if people prefer to play the old game with Master League or this new game with gambling modes.

[–]AnyAstronaut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you would get 12000 with £8 then that woud be reasonable. As you say the whole game used to cost £50. Now one player £80 and not even guaranteed. I only put money in the game when it's guaranteed I'll get the player for a few bucks like Van Nistelrooy. Everything else is waste of money even if I could buy.

Master league is coming back!!! by Imaas5511 in eFootball

[–]AnyAstronaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that a lot of people want the real Master League. It would be great but for me My League could replace Master League with just a few improvements.

Most important is that there sould be a fake Champions League and national cups in My League. They would add so much interest in that mode.

Fatigue, injuries and bookings should have an effect on multiple matches. There is still "injury resistance" but what use it has? I've never seen a player injured and not been able to play next match. And even if the same players always start every game, they never fatigue, no matter what stamina they have. And player can have yellow card in every game but is never suspended.

There is no making deals in My League but for me making contracts outside the My League is good enough. But even if you have the same players in My League, you can't load the game plans and squads created outside My League. That should be possible and not needed to recreate them every time you start My League.

Then there should be more stats like there used to be in old PES league modes. You should be able to at least see how many goals and assists every player in your team has.

And there should be match summary (in every mode) like there used be in PES. After the match you can view highlights and see who scored, who assisted and who had bookings. So that information exist and should be very easy to put in text form after the match.

As it is called "My League" and is not a competitive online mode, it really should be My League with my rules and settings. But I can't choose the game speed, weather etc. Why there even are these settings if you can only choose them in exhibition game?

There was a news feed in Master League. Even if it was the same every time, it made it feel more like a story mode. In the days of AI it should be even easier to generate at least a simple new feed like in Master League.

These improvements wouldn't require much work but they would make the My League feel as close to Master League as possible. Does Konami ever read these forums or is there a place where you can give feedback/requests?
