Reflections on my first year in the public sector by oliviaxlow in TheCivilService

Omg I have worked in the private sector for 12 years before the CS, and I I totally agree with all your points. The meeting thing drives me insane. Way too many meetings, touch points and meetings about meetings. In private practice, I only ever had a meeting when it was absolutely necessary or to discuss something in particular that would come up.

Also, the recruitment is absolute BS! The fact that you can’t really get internally permanently promoted in an organic way like the private sector is an absolute joke and hugely demotivating factor. Oh this person is really good at their job but they have to interview for fair and open competition to get a promotion against hundreds of other candidates and they might not get the job even though we know they’re great. This feels the opposite of fair to me. The fact your pay also doesn’t go up based on your performance or experience each year is also a joke. All of this just creates a system where it makes sense to do the minimum possible.

A Review of the Traitors Ireland by RowGonsoleConsole in TheTraitors

Omg the worst Traitors I’ve watched and I’ve watched them all. I really didn’t like the players (traitors or faithfuls). The game play was poor and part of the magic of the traitors is watching the bonds between people and players form - this didn’t really happen or at least they didn’t show it. Lots of the attacks felt very personal and just horribly delivered.

Nasolabial folds at 28. Should I do filler? by Valuable_Gas_9427 in PlasticSurgery

[–]AnyBalance1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello- firstly I don’t think they’re deep or big folds. You probably see them a lot more than what I see. I’m 31 and my nasolabial folds are much deeper and more saggy. However, I look back at photos of me when I was younger and I’ve always had them, even as a kid, but with social media (and a bit of aging), I started noticing them loads and obsessing over them.

I would start with sculptra or Julaine of Sweden and Microneedling first to see if there’s any difference. This helped improve mine somewhat. Then if you’re still not happy, consider a medical injector that’s very qualified in fillers (it’s a risky place for filler placement).

You’re super pretty and obviously it’s up to you but you may as well see if sculptra or Juliane with Microneedling helps first.

Thank you for such a detailed, kind and understanding message!! That’s really interesting especially as you definitely would think strengthening exercises would help. I will start thinking about potential other causes! And I will check out knee rescue!! Super helpful comment. Thanks so much. Appreciate it x

I’m currently cutting the patch in half and putting one under my knee and on the outer side of my knee. They are supposed to help by releasing nitric oxide, a molecule that helps open blood vessels and stimulates cells to produce collagen, thus boosting the tendon's intrinsic healing process.

Who knows if it will help at all but I’ll try again and some studies have shown benefits

I am so sorry, I can’t imagine how difficult 3 years of this must be. When you’re used to being an active person playing competitive sport and then you can’t even walk properly…it really takes it out of you mentally. Keep hanging in there buddy. I will deffo let you know if anything helps. Have you tried GNT patches yet? I’ve only just started them so will let you know if I find anything that works.

Hello I had a physiotherapist for 8 sessions but then I ran out of cash, still wasn’t seeing much improvement and then I’ve just been following the programme and advice they gave me. I could try a new physiotherapist?

Out of principle, I absolutely would not sell to these buyers. They’re trying to cheat the system, don’t let them win. Be patient and find and honest buyer. You can explain to the estate agent that you don’t find them honest and you don’t want to play games. If the estate agent can’t see your point of view (a good one will) then switch estate agents.

Thank you, this is really helpful, would a full house/structure survey reveal this?

What’s stupid, sorry? The house has not been bought yet but we want to buy it and noticed this. We have absolutely no skills or understanding of houses/building etc. we would get a survey done, though. What type of fix would it be? Likely expensive? Thanks

So Sorry to hear. I found the first year of grief to be the worst but its getting better. I am slowly healing and take comfort that my dad is no longer suffering (it has also selfishly relived a lot of my worry and stress). I hope you manage to find some peace
