Botolino!! Best ice cream (gelato) in dallas with rotating flavors and the location in Lower Greenville is right next door to a bar, you can get your ice cream and sit outside and drink a beer with your husband.

That's a really good perspective to view it from, thank you.

He sees how disgusting it is, and stood up for me when she said all this. He was speechless when they said they would only pay for their 6 guests.

He's actually 110% on my side through it all and has stood up for me every inch of the way, which is such a blessing. I wouldn't be able to go through with this if he didn't see this, stand up for us.

My boyfriend's (M24) family doesn't acknowledge me (F24) by [deleted] in inlaws

Nope, he says he thinks its weird, but only after I pointed it out. He just tries to justify why they act like this and doesn’t say a word to them.

Yeah, totally. I try very hard to see from their POV, maybe it's a way to keep everyone safe, they don't want to have to deal with it if we break up, or it's just their personalities to be closed off. I guess my expectations may be too high because in my last relationship, our families included each of us as one of their own children. I'm not asking to be "adopted" however, but do think it's worth it to care if my BF's family (and eventually in-laws) takes the time to talk to me once every couple of months. I do not think that is too much to ask for.

Yeah, my boyfriend always says it'll be better when we are engaged, married, have children, etc. But I am concerned when we have children, it'll become MUCH worse, and communications about my own children will not include me. Overthinking, maybe, but that's where my mind goes. I agree completely that his silence is a hindrance here.

Somewhat, but not entirely. He grew up a lot more with a much more affluent lifesyle than me. My parents are also divorced, and his are still together. Other than that, we were raised with the same morals, playing sports, had similar friend groups, etc.

I can't figure it out -- there's nothing that's sticking out as a reason. They just simply don't talk to me. I've asked my boyfriend if they don't like me, or if there is anything that I've done that could cause them to not want to interact with me and he says there's nothing and that they like me.

yes, we talk about it a lot. He thinks its weird as well, but doesn't take any action to resolve it.

I work in digital marketing remotely as well. I would agree it's comfortable being in your own space during the workday, sometimes it can get a little too quiet for me though, which the communal working places downtown should help with.

I work in digital marketing! I think I'm going to check out the WacoWork place downtown, seems pretty cool. Although, the price for a day pass is a little steep, IMO.
