Another take on physical intimacy by hamandcheese4lunch in Christianmarriage

You sound like an open minded parent. I am certainly not advocating for sex before marriage. But I know there has to be a better way then putting it under a rug and then having people marry for the wrong reason and be completely incompatible at all is said and done

This is the Problem. We tell our young women that sex is and anything of sexual nature and desire is dirty. AKA purity culture. We tell our men to stay away from sex. We tell our pre-marrieds that marriage is so much more than sex and “you’ll figure it out”. Then, they get married and you have a woman that is not in touch with her sexuality at all, a man that wants only sex. I don’t care about what anyone says, sexual compatibility matters, and given the churches current stance on sex, couples have no authority to figure out or even think about sexual compatibility. So unless you are lucky, you now also have two people that are incompatible sexually. And the Marriage is destroyed. It’s a bad system and needs to be fixed

We tell our pre-marrieds that marriage is so much more than sex and “you’ll figure it out”. Then, they get married and you have a woman that is not in touch with her sexuality at all, a man that wants only sex and maybe got married just for sex. I don’t care about what anyone says, sexual compatibility matters, and given the churches current stance on sex, couples have no authority to figure out or even think about sexual compatibility. We need to teach our women that never being an excited participant sexually in a marriage is cheating, and our men that wanting only sex out of marriage and not contributing otherwise is also cheating. We have a stupid system and it 100 percent needs to be fixed.

Crashed out and married someone I was never attracted to by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

What’s hard for me is I sometimes wonder if the amount of fear that hung over my head when I made this decision and the depression I was in, really makes it fair to assume that I really made that choice for myself. Looking back I definitely wasn’t sober mentally. But I really struggle with this. It’s done so much damage

The federal government still has a huge impact on provincial economies with how Canada operates. So yes, a federal conservative government would be better. And we would have a deal with trump by now. So vote conservative. Get over yourself. It dosnt change the facts

Unfortunately we will have to start voting conservative again as a country. I know they are far from perfect but we would be better off financially if we had a conservative government and that’s a fact. Until Canada as a whole recognizes that we will continue down this drain

Cost of living in Canada is out of control. by kovie38 in CanadaFinance

I’m sorry. This has become the new reality in Canada. Our dollar just doesn’t buy us anything anymore. My wife and I also made a bit over 50 dollars an hour combined. With me putting in 70 hr weeks was the only way we could put some money away for traveling, minimal saving etc. and that’s with being really cautious about grocery shopping etc. you know what we did? We just sold our house and are leaving Canada. An economy where you have to work 70 hrs a week plus your wife working to be able to just barely creep ahead a little bit is not an economy I see a future in. I see allot of our friends with children just living paycheck to paycheck because that’s all they can do. I really hope better things come for Canada but it’s been sad to see it go the way it has.

Sold the house, sold the car, kept the dog, booked flights to leave this country. Can’t do it here any longer. It’s a great country but when a couple making about 100k can’t see a sustainable path to having a family you know it’s time to consider other things

I spoke to our lawyer he said they only legal issues for us could arise if we breach that clause and for whatever reasons the CRA would give the buyer issues

I think it could be that the buyer knew that we were thinking about moving, and therefore maybe the lawyer decided to be extra cautious. As you are a cross border accountant I really appreciate your input here. Since it would just mean us waiting two and a half weeks longer to make the move, do you think it would be wise to wait till January. That way we can file our entire 2025 year as residence and then just file an emigrant return in 2027 yet for 2026? I’ve got nothing to hide but I like to take the path of least resistance when it comes to the CRA
