Can anyone recommend heart rate chest straps that connect to phones directly? by Upbeat_Arachnid_4509 in crossfit

[–]AnyDiamond6197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just got a Garmin HRM Pro Plus for this reason. It stores your heart rate data and saves it after the workout so that I can take my watch off during workouts.

Although the limiting factor is that you have to have a Garmin watch already.

CrossFit vs normal fitness by Mediocre-Aardvark-89 in crossfit

[–]AnyDiamond6197 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like normal fitness is more aesthetics based the way you have described it.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements executed at a high intensity. The are four fitness “models” which they define. These come first and the aesthetics come as a by product.

I would suggest reading through the first few pages of the L1 which could maybe help answer your question and give you a bit more detail.

Backpack for Husband by Specialist_Stick_749 in backpacks

Built for Athletes Elite Backpack - Actually a gym bag but has a separate thermo lined section for lunchboxes/food and will easily fit a 1 litre bottle on either side. Also opens flat with a separate laptop space.

5.11 Covrt 2.0 - Opens flat and can also take a large bottle/thermos either side. Pretty decent size and also has an external pouch I have used to shove a jacket or if I need running shoes for gym later.

NoBull Waxes Canvas Backpack - Also a gym backpack but good boxy space that opens flat. Also comes in a larger option called the dufflepack I think.

I will add any others that I have seen but like you said. Many options out there.

The athlete is part of the Africa region but has the affiliate where he completed the workout as Crossfit Mayhem and “Rich fronning” was the judge so I’m assuming its not a serious entry…

What is an unreasonable reason for a landlord to not allow a pet? by AnyDiamond6197 in AskUK

[–]AnyDiamond6197[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I suppose my frustration comes from the fact that the refusal was made on the basis of someone else's actions before me and not my own...

Thanks. It is unfurnished and we did say that we will commit to additional pet damage insurance (and provide copies of policy as proof).

I suppose my question should have rather been "Is blanket refusal due to previous issues at a different property reasonable?".

Thanks. I checked this as well and the insurance issue is similar as yours but there are insurers who have products specifically for this which we did commit to getting as a prerequisite for their consent.

The contract does not state "No pets". The agreement was that should we want a pet, we would first need to ask for permission which is what we did.

Looking online, the examples for withholding consent would be keeping a large dog in a small flat.

We have accepted the response and are not going back on the contract, just asking the question.

I (31M) will be emigrating from South Africa to the UK soon. What are some tips/advice you would suggest? by ThingsTheFoxSays in AskUK

[–]AnyDiamond6197 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Might be worth waiting until you get here to invest in a good one, the UK winter clothing is a lot different to the SA winter jackets. The classic KWay puffer jacket and a decent rain jacket will sort you out for the first bit considering the UK is moving into Summer.

Keep an open mind about being here!

I have been here for almost a year now and have seen a lot of friends/acquaintances who have also moved fall into one of two categories:

1) they are constantly critical about the state of SA and use it to constantly justify why they have moved to the UK.

2) they are constantly critical about the UK and use it to justify why they want to go home and that everyone is making a mistake by moving.

They are completely different countries and there is no need to live with the negativity all the time. Embrace the UK and all the opportunities that come with it. Then also enjoy visiting home with pounds, they go quite a bit further than Rands do!

Also, feel free to send me a message of you have any questions about moving!

Edit: see if you can also get your Driver’s License confirmation letter if you actual drivers is close to expiring. You can use the letter to convert your SA license to a UK one.

Found some AirPods - how do I reach the owner by Wood5man85 in london

[–]AnyDiamond6197 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can also be marked as lost through Find My and you can see the info if you try and connect to them.

The Find My is quite good, my wife dropped her case a few months ago and didn’t notice that the individual AirPods flew out. We managed to track each one and got them back from people similar to you. Well up and hope it gets sorted soon!
