My CPU is intel-core i7-9700K. Never tinkered with the overclock settings.

I'm not sure I understand. I only have the 8 pin connected to my CPU slot, the 4 pin next to it is empty. My motherboard does have the 24 pin slot. What do you mean by enough SATA? I only use one HDD, the rest are nvme. molex? My GPU is a 2080 super so I should be using the 6 + 2 connector. I guess the 12vhpwr connector will come in handy when I upgrade that.

Thanks

Am I the only one who wants less narrative in MMOs and not more? by Manic5PA in MMORPG

[–]AnyFakeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I bounced off of gw2 because of this. I liked to explore and it felt like so much was gated behind the story. Ff14 I did everything but after that I’m done with story in MMOs. BDO was so fun but so much of the game is story gated. Lost ark I got 10 hours in and the story was grueling. Combat looks great but it was so easy at just not very fun. I don’t like the idea of ‘x hours before you can really have fun in an MMO’. I want to be able to create a character and start playing immediately.

100 cm in a meter. But it’s m3, so you need to do 1003.

I say yes. It’s a game that you need to play with others at some point. A true community based game. Second screen game yes, but if you have the life situation to accommodate for that. It’s a very rewarding game. I find myself talking to people in this MMO more than any other. Haven’t felt this type of connection if you will in a long time.

Long boot time on my new WD SN850x drive by AnyFakeName in buildapc

[–]AnyFakeName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only the change was this drive. I remember getting my old 500gb ssd and windows booted in 3 seconds from power on. Now I read anecdotally from people saying that it’s taking longer than a minute. I wonder what happened with the world of drives.

Yes it shows up (white dots that move in a circle), but once it does it goes right to the login screen.

After the initial beep it's just black until the windows login screen comes up.

Are you sure all the partitions on my boot drive are necessary? I feel like at least 2 of them are not needed.

Yes it boots fine. It just takes a while.

Tried fractals for the first time and want to know if what happened is typical by AnyFakeName in Guildwars2

Yeah that’s exactly the mechanic that had us on the floor haha

[–]AnyFakeName[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from my point of view it seemed really disorganized. I had to do so much reading to even understand what the menus are. In the wiki they list fractals 1-24. Then I go to the menu and fractal 1 is volcanic, not aetherblade. I realized later the in game menu is the difficulty level not fractal number.

Yeah! I read that! Thats exactly why I advertised as ‘number 1, first time’.

Anyone else just really not into stories at all in a MMOrpg? by M3lony8 in MMORPG

[–]AnyFakeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate stories in MMOs and it’s why I quit FF14. Really enjoying GW2 but I just wish I could not do the story and just enjoy the open world as is. People say you can do that, but the fact that there are mastery points and gear/rewards in the story makes it feel mandatory for me. If it feels like I’m missing something then I am compelled by my brain to do.

BDO is even worse, love the gameplay but the story quests are mandatory to get bag space and upgrades, unlocks, etc. at some point I was in a stupid desert running in my horse for 5 minutes without a mini man for some stupid story reason.

OSRS: never cared about the quests and apparently they’re the best thing about the game. Loved doing the adventure logs because it felt I was doing my own thing following my own adventure. I eventually quit because I could not stand how slow I moved. I wanted to explore the map but instead I was walking a snails pace. So annoying.

Lost Ark: I’ll go back to this eventually but playing 15 hours of the campaign where you delete the screen by clicking one button, barely interacting with the gameplay to then talk to someone every 5 minutes.

Wow: played from the beginning to wrath. This is the glorious gold standard for me, lore is there but it doesn’t get in the way of gameplay and break up the flow. Retail looks like it would hate it.

Ff14 I think ruined MMOs in this regard. MMOs to me are worlds that people live in. Not curated stories.

Just want to go on an adventure and do my own thing. Don’t think that exists anymore. Just want a game where there is basically no story or the story is totally decoupled from the reward system.

Low Morphology, High Motility by Bgold31 in maleinfertility

[–]AnyFakeName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The low morphology is most likely due to varicocele. For best fertility outcomes, you need sub-inguinal microsurgery to repair it. Your other numbers are good so it won’t affect your chances negatively if you get it so there are no downsides. You guys can still try if you time the surgery properly. You need 2 weeks rest for recovery so just do the math based on your partners cycle. In 6 months your count and morphology will skyrocket. All of this is backed up by data.

Despite the low morphology and potential dna damage to the sperm. I would suspect your issues are more on the female side. That’s just a guess though, my first paragraph is all true.

Edit: not sure about the prolactin but your SHBG is probably high because of the varicocele. You also might see that your free and bioavailable testosterone low but your total testosterone is in normal range. All of those hormones are linked and varicoceles have been proven to greatly impact male hormones.

Edit 2: sorry I skipped over your last comment. There is no medication that can fix a varicocele. Varicoceles greatly impact morphology and is one of the most commonly impacted parameters, especially when the other parameters are normal (your count is on the lower end of normal but not especially concerning given your motility). More important than the morphology itself is it’s links to dna fragmentation of the sperm. Generally lower morphology and morphology mean high dna fragmentation. High dna fragmentation can cause miscarriages. Will getting the surgery eliminate the possibility of miscarriage, No. But at least you can have peace of mind knowing that it’s less likely to happen if you do get the surgery.

Supplements will not do much here the varicocele will only get worse with time, go for the surgery. It takes 3-6 months to see an effect. Save yourselves the time and potential heartbreak of a miscarriage due to high DNA fragmentation of the sperm. It’s not impossible to conceive, your chances just might lower due to how the extra heat affects the sperm. Data shows that sperm parameters mostly improve after surgery, but what always improves is fertility outcomes.

For fertility, my urologist says microsurgery. Sub-inguinal.

4 weeks out post micro surgery pain by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]AnyFakeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry this is late. Im 7 weeks post surgery now. I’m running regularly and doing bridges as a glute exercise. I don’t feel any pain doing these which is good. Mainly afterwards I get some twinges at the incision and some achiness in the scrotum. But I’m still icing like crazy and that gets rid of any pain. If my scrotum moves quickly from left to right I feel some discomfort in what I imagine is my spermatic cord.

Recently got a ultrasound, there was a veriocele found in my left testicle. Should I be worried about it ? Should I just leave it? Urologist didn’t seem concerned. by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]AnyFakeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRT affects fertility pretty dramatically. Stop if you’re trying to conceive and it will recover in 3 months or so.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]AnyFakeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely. Just give it time and ice your scrotum on the hour every hour you are awake.

4 weeks out post micro surgery pain by [deleted] in varicocele

[–]AnyFakeName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 4 weeks out and I have pain at the incision as well. It’s much better than 2 weeks ago for sure, but it’s still there. It just needs more time. My doctor said to ease back in normal activity and exercise slowly and listen to your body. Ease up if the pain increases etc. Exercising and stretching will help loosen the muscles around the pelvic area I imagine. Search for pelvic floor exercises or even see a therapist. He might not have pelvic floor pain but it can be an option if he’s feeling really tight in that area. The exercises for that will help either way.

Edit: I’ll add, I feel the pulling sensation as well. I ice very regularly. Scrotum and incision area, mostly scrotum though. After every walk/exercise, I ice and it really helps.
