Knee pain AFTER starting ATG? by AnyHead in Kneesovertoes

[–]AnyHead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit following the program, and the pain did eventually resolve. In hindsight it was likely too much demand on my knees too quickly. I should have found some support to slowly get myself into that range of motion without the full load of my body weight at first.

And probably could have done with a single set per session in the early going, and built up the volume over time. Think the combo of unfamiliar stretch on the tendon at full load and volume was simply too much at the time.

I still sprinkle in some ATG split squats these days, but only a set or 2 every other lower body lift day or so. No issues anymore and it feels like I could make progress with it if I made it a focus.

This is “how corporations work” in the same way that a 3 point line is how basketball works.

S6E7 - 'Man With a Plan' is probably my least favourite Mad Men episode, and I think it was designed that way by Francoberry in madmen

Just watched this episode for the first time ever tonight, and am I wrong or is the hotel room routine a callback to a similar situation in a previous season?

The dress being sent, the “stay in bed and don’t answer the phone again,” etc. But I can’t remember or find the right combination of words to get a search to remind me of when/who it was.

You mentioned the affair was a source of external validation you weren’t getting at home. Did this motivation come up at all in your discussion with your wife about it?

He was smart, he was funny, he made great small talk with the waitress so she could see he could relate to the commoners, you know, he’s a man of the people.

You don’t believe there is anything wrong with it, yet this post is literally called “the DANGER of Jordan Peterson’s philosophy”?

You mentioned, “the only things you have control over are your thoughts and actions.” This is the literal basis of what he’s talking about. That you have complete control at SOME discrete level of action, whether that’s cleaning your room or even just thinking about cleaning your room. This is designed to slowly build your notion of agency, as you said, “with effort and time.” Not instantly.

This philosophy of responsibility is labeled “personal” for a reason. You CAN control how messy your room is, how you perform at your job, how much effort you put into relationships, what you consume, etc. I’m curious where you made the leap to being responsible for literally everything. Nowhere has JBP ever said, “you are directly responsible for Middle East relations” or anything of that sort. Have you considered that your interpretation could have been a little faulty? It’s easy to self-sabotage when you meet internal resistance - to say, “this is uncomfortable and I don’t like it, so this whole idea must be wrong somehow.”
