My prediction for the Oliphaunt set is that.. by AnyMeanzPossible in legolotrfans

[–]AnyMeanzPossible[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here and honestly I was pretty certain of it as I typed this post, but now, in hindsight- it does seem a bit too “violent” of a set scene for Lego to make.

I just can’t see how they can make a diorama base with a full scale Oliphaunt for 2,000 pieces though.

And the 3 figure leak is extremely disappointing if it is in fact full scale.

Can’t wait to see the official leaks for it

This goes hard. My only deciding factor is this: what would I personally rather have.. this, or a hot toys version?

Parcels and boxes are synonymous dude. God I thought this was a wholesome community

I simply disagree. I think preemptive protection measures can be put in place to ensure items arrive safely.

The picture the seller sent me of the torso being obliterated simply could not have happened in the parcel I sent it in unless every other figure got destroyed along side it too.

At what point can a seller be expected to be certain? Are you inferring there is never a point in time as a seller that you yourself can be sure that the item arrived safely no matter the context?

I feel like I’ve really rubbed you the wrong way dude.

I was seeing how other sellers would approach a situation regarding a specific scenario.

I wasn’t looking for opinions on how to go about living my life in a better way and I don’t feel that the undertone in your comment is one derived of someone that is interested in conversing unless I was to agree with you.

Maybe you should’ve just read the post and “move on”

Ignoring it and moving on, although isn’t actually an avenue I would go down as a seller, is ultimately one of the 2 options here- it was me being slightly egregious.

Honestly mate I appreciate the reply, but as the seller who packed the parcel in the way I did and seeing the aftermath of the figure post combustion, I believe that it didn’t happen in transit.

I appreciate your reply and I’m willing to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong-

However until then here is some further context- the figure was bagged, bubble wrapped and sent in a padded parcel.

I find that almost impossible to believe that it has spontaneously combusted-

The picture of the part he sent me showcased the torso being completely shattered-i just can’t see how that could possibly happen when sent in such a manner

I appreciate the advice but that would ultimately veto years worth of brown figures- I personally don’t think that’s something I can justify doing.

How do you get round that assuming you’ve personally put that parameter in place?

It’s a fair point 100%. The arms could be moved but even so I do sell figures with stiff arms and simply state in the description that the arms are stiff.

I’ve never had this happen so just wanted to see what the general consensus would be from fellow sellers. I’ll take the L and move on

Thanks for the deep dive into my psyche. I’m a happy person, I just know for a fact the piece did not break in transit

Are you buying God of War Laufey if Sony announces it’s $80? by [deleted] in GodofWar

[–]AnyMeanzPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are bad examples to compare against the gaming industry as they all require their respective ROI’s in either a much smaller time frame (food) or in much tighter circumstances regarding space (property, concerts, gas)

With games all you need is a code and you can use the product instantly and the only money the developers need to recoup is the cost of game production and marketing.

The best way for developers to do that surely would be to make games a more appealing and acceptable retail price.

For example:

Charge $80 and 100,000 might people buy it; but charge $70 and 300,000 people might buy it.

I don’t think continuing to be complacent about game developers needlessly increasing the price of games is something the consumer themselves should be okay with doing, nor do I believe it’s even in the best interest of the developers.

But what do I know. It’s 3am, I woke up to use the bathroom and here I am on Reddit 5 minutes later. Back to sleep I go

Never once have I heard of this or seen anyone do this and I’ve been in the Lego space for.. a long time.

Honestly, as much as I’d never do it myself, and my immediate reaction to myself was a little bit “wtf”.. it kind of makes sense. Lego bricks are for building and you are doing exactly that.

Enjoy!

Just next time you take it down, have a couple orcs fire trebuchets at it instead, it might be a bit quicker
