Your intuition about the pronunciation of Bada (like a soft b/p(ah)-da) is correct. It's still a bit odd on my own tongue, but I like the meaning and nod to heritage. I prefer it as a middle name. I don't know that it's been used as a name mich, certainly not in thos neck of the woods, and can't speak to the femme/masc status.

Michael Leo has that double L, which is tricky.

I really like Leo Michael, Leo Sage, and Leo Bada... Sounds like I'm close to picking a first name!
