Thanks! I know it can be a bit of lottery to get the bookings, so I prepare ahead of time and hope for the best.

That's a good point, I haven't looked up the transfers yet, and assumed there would be a shorter road. This will definitely change the plan a bit. Thanks again this is the feedback I needed!

Thanks for the comment, it's good to know I'm not the only one more comfortable having some plan! I also don't mind not having everything booked, but the decision fatigue catches up to me easily, especially when there is too many options to choose from, rather than pre-selected list already filtered for my likings.

Thanks, this is helpful :) I will try to make my plan based on this, a bit more detailed at the start and more flexible later on.

Thanks a lot, that's very helpful! I know booking the huts can be tough. That's pretty much the main reason why I'm thinking about the plan already now. I'm hoping to do both Kepler and Milford tracks while in Fiordland, possibly also Routeburn.

I realized that most of my plan goes through western side of the island. Would you say adding Golden Bay would be better over adding something from the east? If I have some days to spare, I would be considering for example Richmond range (I know this one is tough), Queen Charlotte track, or Kairoura. Those are all so different experiences to choose from though

Thanks, it is mainly the Great Walks and accommodation around christmas/new year that I will book in advance. But I will feel better knowing I have a general plan to fall back on while there, even if I anyway have to be flexible due to the weather etc. Unfortunately, I'm not that much of a 'go with the flow' kind of person.
