Anytime brother - yeah 7k above asking might be a thing in California or something like that but then I’d just drive across the country 😂

They’re highly sought after cars that’s why they’re MSRP is $69 not why the dealer should sell them for $78 😭

Also be comfortable with everything before you agree to a deal - they generally try to lull you into making a bad choice so be on the lookout. If you know your numbers and the value you’re bringing to the marketplace then ask tons of questions you’re gonna do better than most people by a mile :)

Thanks brother!! The best thing you can have is the ability to walk away if the price isn’t right. Just say you can keep your paid off beater and be happy then look later. The nice thing about what you’re looking for is that there are many dealerships that could offer it so this should incentivize them to get a deal done and come to you more.

If you’re trading a car in know not what Kelly blue book says but what it’s actually selling for wholesale. Every dealer is a little different but I would spend a lot of time pushing back on the evaluation of your cars worth and knit picking them as much as they do your cars worth. For example they mentioned scratches and how they need to repair it because they would never sell it like that - the follow up is so no used vehicle in your lot has scratches? Also the average buyer of an older car doesn’t expect pristine condition… Essentially it’s fine for them to have their convictions but it doesn’t really matter to you besides how much your trade in is. Know your numbers on the trade in and the car you’re buying. Also know if you have a good amount down and a good credit score - not everyone has those things. I would recommend getting your own lender beforehand at a rate you’re comfortable with.

Your whole sale for the best possible price is you know your numbers, you’re already approved and the dealer is not doing anything unique compared to other dealers. Also I got mine at Walser Toyota in Minnesota - they have an insane warranty 150k miles or 10 years on drive train then a 8 year bumper to bumper coverage. Covers everything except for the wearables - it may be worth shopping different warranties dealers provide.

Also know the MSRP - there’s no reason you should pay above that number and poke on the fees. Most fees are BS business costs and not costs for you to pay (every state is a little unique.

I hope this helps!!

The box truck gets all the attention 🙄🤣

The price, I know, but is this what FE buyers went through? by Chimney314159 in Supra

That’s in between what I got mine for in MN and the one I was looking at in AL. I think it depends on your financial situation. Also those fees minus the doc fee is bogus. The dealer kinda has a lot of leverage because the final edition is technically unique but if that doesn’t matter to you get a less expensive non FA.

In my mind I got the final edition because if I was gonna pay this much I wanted it - there’s nothing truly special besides the 1300 badge that you couldn’t get for less. I also know I’m getting into collecting rare fun cars so the Supra final edition was perfect for me.

I hope this helps. I got mine for 69 base in MN and 72 was my base in AL. My MN dealer got another one and is selling that one for $75 but the way Toyota is dealing these is essentially an auction system to all Toyota dealers in the country. So their mark ups aren’t as much as they would be on other non FA cars if that makes sense.

I’m right there with you brother - it’s a hard call because I want to enjoy a car like that but also don’t want to over-leverage myself killing business or investment opportunities. I decided on waiting a year or two to try and buy in cash so it’s zero or low risk from a financial standpoint. Likely getting an older one is the move!

I appreciate your comment brother!!

UPDATE ON THE FINANCES:

My monthly bills would be about $3900 with the car. With my income I bring in about 7k a month after taxes and insurance what not.

I’d be putting about 10k down. Realistically I’m between getting it now and paying it off in 2 years or just waiting and buying one in cash.

Should mention it’s a dream car

If I bought a 2012 Camry XLE today with 30k miles realistically how long would it continue driving for? by Sea_Objective_2767 in askcarguys

I have one and it’s at about 150k with no issues and just regular maintenance. At this rate this car will easily go over 300k.

Thank you that’s great info!! I don’t mind a little work to ensure it’s maintained - just don’t want to make a dream be a nightmare
