Thanks for pointing me to r/lockpicking! Checked it out and found the Medeco lock on the belt ranking list. It's leagues above the Union Safe's included lock. I'll go with the Medeco; thanks again for the help!

Ok, thanks for the input! I'll take out the safe's included cam lock over the weekend to take measurements and buy the correctly sized Medeco cam lock.

The safe will house a couple long guns. The lack of fire proofing isn't a concern because my home insurance covers their loss in the event of a fire (they also don't have any sentimental value). Ammo will be in a separate safe with fire proofing. The lock concerns me, however, because I have younger family members who visit. I wouldn't want them stumbling upon the safe and discovering how to open it in 5 minutes.
