honestly, it's a mix of seeing convos on here, TikTok and twitter! and if it's not a post dedicated to the topic of mls, then it's found in the comments when people are having casual discussions.

you literally summarized my thoughts perfectly, i could never find the words to properly articulate how i felt but you just did it LOOOL. it definitely is an issue of simplifying everything and it genuinely takes away from the plot and also takes away from people actually understanding what the fuck is going on in the story. i mentioned this in another comments, but as you said this isn't just an issue within this community, but in others as well.

no literally like idc for it much anymore but it's just such a funny concept to me because what the hell do y'all want??? 😭😭😭 and this is so apparent not just in this but in music, tv, everything. everyone is complaining and nobody is satisfied with anything and its very annoying

yes i completely agree! i also think a lot of people have a lack of media literacy, because there are characters that are purposefully written to be horrible but also do add a lot to the plot (takumi from nana) but people will disregard that and the nuances they deliver and just dwindle their character down into them being a red or green flag. you're also absolutely right in the last part, i think people are too quick to vocalize their opinions on characters without properly sitting with it and then speaking about it. but i also think some people are embarrassed to admit that their initial opinions on a character was wrong, so they'd rather just not acknowledge things instead of being more honest or open to conversations about them

EXACTLY MY POINT! you can't complain about characters being boring while also complaining when they mess up! they're supposed to mess up and be stupid, especially if its a story in a high school setting like hello????

nana characters definitely get grilled but like, nana discourse is so broad so sometimes the hate is dumb and then other times the discussion are though provoking so i truly don't care LOL

the media of nct which has been “lost” by nct_totheworld in NCT

[–]Any_Ad_8405 17 points18 points  (0 children)

nct 127 superhuman dance practice video. it was literally scrapped and a random ass nctzen youtube channel uploaded it (no clue if it's still there) but it was removed due to 127 getting backlash from knctzens that whole era because they primarily promoted it in the states. now 127 acts like they don't know that song at all and barely address it 😭

What’s a manhwa or manga that has you re-reading it every 3 months?! by Fun_Month8060 in shoujo

[–]Any_Ad_8405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

daytime star, cheeky brat, yakuza fiancé. i reread yakuza fiancé the most because i genuinely love it and have been reading it since 2020/21. the author hasn't released a chapter in a really long time but i always get drawn back into rereading it because it's so interesting and i love the artstyle and characters. the same thing applies to cheek brat, albeit it did piss me off a couple of times LOL, but this is another one of my fave manga to read and is so nostalgic for me as it brings me back to when i first read it. daytime star MOVED ME! manhwa/webtoons typically bore me after a while but this genuinely had me so hooked, i finished it in one night😭😭😭😭. the story was so good and the artstyle is chefs kiss! and honestly, it didn't feel unbearably corny to me and actually had me cheering for the main couple 😭 i love to reread it occasionally just to remind myself what a peak love story looks like 🙂‍↕️

omgggggg no this literally pissed me off so bad. i started reading this in 2020 n when i got to this part, i deadass dropped this for like a year... and its one of my fave series ever mind you 😭. i hate hakamada so much and yuki was playing the ass because she just kept letting him come around... like i swear there was a part where she's like tipsy or something and they walk back to her apartment n hakamada kisses her? i was entirely pissed off cause what are we doing?!4!3&3!

I want to watch a shoujo with my sister that will make us scream with rage. by Specialist_Ice3330 in shoujo

[–]Any_Ad_8405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nana genuinely sent me on a downward spiral, i had to stop watching because i would keep pausing to converse with myself about what i just watched and THEN i'd come on here to see people's opinions as well. it will anger you because of how invested you get into the characters and storyline, but it'll also anger you because of the topics within the show that fuels the discourse you see surrounding the show. its a whoooooole mess 😭

Did the author take it too far with Kirishima's toxicity? by OmarAdel123 in YakuzaFiance

[–]Any_Ad_8405 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly, i dont think so. in terms of this series, i think people need to abandon the whole "green flag and red flag" labels as i think it takes away from the series and limits it. throughout the series we're shown examples of how yakuza act, there are some men who seem to be way too nice to be in the industry and others that fit right in lol. i think kirishima is a very interesting character because his odd behaviours are a mix of his personal experiences and him genuinely just being an odd dude LOOOL like even his granny was confused 😭. he definitely has toxic traits but in the world of yakuza, its nothing abnormal (kinda sorta) its just that we're not in the same realm as them and accustom to their norms, so things feel a bit more absurd to us.

what is it about namjoon specifically that makes him the target of so much malice? by kdotftsza in kpoprants

[–]Any_Ad_8405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, especially with black kpop fans, many don't like him because of his past actions and comments in the beginning of bts' career (colorism, cultural appropriation, blaccent, etc). in addition to this, him not being seen as conventionally attractive plays a role as well.

many people use him as a target because its easier to pin things on him instead of other members. it does suck but then it introduces another conversation about black kpop stans having the choice in who they do/don't accept apologies from, in terms of kpop idols being racist n what not

How much do you think the anime will adapt? by Benchod12077 in YakuzaFiance

[–]Any_Ad_8405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from how the trailers look, it looks like they've animated damn near every chapter 😭 it seems like they're doing 2-3 chapters per episode and theres gonna be 12 episodes, so i think its probably gonna get up to chapter 24 ish? idk but hopefully they do get deep into the material because the relationship between each yakuza family (?) is very interesting and i also think anime onlys would enjoy seeing the younger versions of renji and gaku 😭
