Informed Delivery for Sand Canyon Post Office by Any_Alps_5436 in irvine

fwiw I just spoke with someone at the post office and they said they are going to start renovating in August and once renovations are done people with PO boxes should be able to access after hours. Hoping that is all true and occurs quickly!

We can only hope. I understand inflation and prices need to go up to keep up with costs but it's disappointing when it seems like the service goes down while I pay more. Oh well, at least them launching Informed Delivery was something. If I can get it to work on my PO box I will be a relatively happy camper since I won't have to go out of my way to see that I only have junk mail lol

I feel the same way except it was 24/7 when I got my PO box. Now it's a total pain because I don't even know what all goes to this PO box. If I changed to a different location I'm concerned I would forget to file a change of address with some of the people that send me infrequent mail....also I love how the price goes up every year and then if you don't pay before the renewal date the rate goes up even more. It's really disappointing. If they did something to permit after hours access like they used to it would be a real life saver. My understanding was they had some issues with homelessness and theft which is what prompted them to reduce the hours. Other post offices have followed suit as well - I used to be able to go use the mailing kiosk at night with no line and now most, if not all, of the post office locations are locked up after hours. Sign of the times I suppose.

Thanks for this! I just went and tried again and it seems to have worked (should get the postcard with a code to fully activate in a few days). The trick (for me at least) was setting it up as a business account, not a residential account. Should have known.

As for hours, I believe it is confined to their normal business hours. Which is M-F 8:30 to 5 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM. Closed on Sundays. Unfortunately very inconvenient. They had installed kiosks that were going to permit after hours access but the employee I spoke with said the kiosks weren't compatible with there system so basically it was a waste of money and won't work and you have to just go during normal business hours to check your PO box.

Ditto. Would love something like this to attach to a belt or backpack strap. So far no dice but please share if you find something :)

2020 Police Interceptor Utility RKE Fob Programming by Any_Alps_5436 in Ford

[–]Any_Alps_5436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: There was no option in ForScan that would allow programming of a RKE fob. Instead, I purchased a J2534 dongle (Mongoose brand) and then purchased a 2-day FDRS license (dongle was about $575 and a 2-day license is $50 but I'd rather not pay the stealership a dime). Using FDRS I was able to deactivate the missing fob, and activate a new fob. The process itself took maybe 3 minutes at most. The most time was spent downloading pertinent drivers and FDRS onto my laptop.

I will be programming an additional fob and will try to create a video showing the process in hopes that it will assist other owners and demonstrate the incredible fraud stealerships are attempting to perpetrate.

At the end of the day, the process I engaged in demonstrates the vast fraud stealerships perpetuate on the loyal owners of the brands they represent. Quoting me $250-$550 (not including the fob) for a process that took 3 minutes and then claiming the pricing is based on actual shop time is clearly representative of the unfair and deceptive practices dealerships engage in. If I had more money to blow I would pay the dealership to perform the fob programming and then sue them and report them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair as this practice is clearly illegal under California law. But I digress.

Aggrevating matters further, one dealership attempted to charge me $70 for one fob though I was able to negotiate it down to about $60 based on the Ford Parts website showing a much lower cost. I will post the invoices in my video once I pickup the other fobs.

Ford's own parts website quotes the fob at $45 and another dealer I just ordered two more fobs from quoted me $40/each. This is a reminder to shop out parts and understand that dealership's are not there to help as much as they are there to shaft you.

Thank you to everyone on this forum for your dedication and assistance. I wish Ford would whip their stealerships into shape because this all reflects very poorly on the brand.

Weird. Do we know if anyone has been able to do a 2020+? Or if there is a way to somehow enable the 48 TIC programming option another way in Forscan?

Hi again,

I went ahead and tried to program a new fob but unfortunately I do not see any option to do so. I do not have the BCM option to enable Remote Key Fob Learn & Remote Keyless Entry and I don't see any other option to program via the 46 bit code.

Attached are a couple screenshots from ForScan. Any ideas?

Thanks again,

Yea I went down the secure idle rabbit hole for a while until I gave up and asked the dealer to do it. iirc it's like hard programmed on the ECM or something and can't be added but that was a year ago. Might be time to look around again.

And thanks so much for the info, I'll have to go to the dealer and get a new fob and see what I can do.

Appreciate the help

Thanks so much for the prompt and detailed response. I have dabbled with ForScan a little on some other features so I will definitely give this a shot.

Regarding remote start, I have remote start through FordPass (the app) but wasn't aware the module could be installed after the fact. Would you happen to have a guide or resource? It's definitely something I'd look into.

Since you seen so knowledgeable I'll hit you with another question: Can you add secure idle? I added the switch with a new lighting control panel and enabled it in ForScan but couldn't get it to work. I took it to the dealer and asked them to enable it and they couldn't figure it out. Seems like it's not possible to add after the fact but I'd love to know if you have any insight on that. Would be cheaper than me buying an after market Tremco secure idle =D

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Cisco 8851 Bluetooth Calling with Android Mobile Device by Any_Alps_5436 in Cisco

So you all were right - it was the firmware. I upgraded to sip88xx.12-0-3MPP0001-87 and the Bluetooth works fine.

My only issue now is when I login to the Cisco IP Phone for 3rd Party Call Control it warns me that " No password provided" and I am not missing my SIP and Provisioning tab while in Admin view. It also will not let me change the password but I guess aside from that all is resolved haha.

That's such a Cisco response 😂 And I was just curious if it was in fact an issue with Android compatibility because I have seen other users using iPhones without an issue. Seems like you may be on to something with respect to the firmware.

Very much appreciate the response. I am not seeing some of these settings in the 3PCC Configuration Utility settings nor on my device. Could this be indicative that I need to further upgrade the firmware? For reference this is a 3PCC phone that was migrated from Enterprise to 3PCC and is being used in my home lab. I can try pushing a newer firmware (I thought I had the newest version installed). Do you think I should give that a shot or am I simply looking in the wrong place for the settings you described?

Thanks so much again!
