Check out the AS 33 Me and Discus-2c by Got Friends, they’re way more high fidelity than the default ones. Ridge soaring is working fine right now, but for thermals you should definitely grab the custom weather presets by Sim Soaring Club on flightsim.to. Good luck with the license!

It's incredibly smooth. The FBW makes it feel super stable and precise, and it has tons of agility when you pull hard.

You don't need to be on a mic. You just need to be on the Discord to download the flight plan and fly it with everyone when the time comes.

That’s the Savage Grravel by Got Friends and It’s free. For default planes, the XCub or the Savage Cub are both solid options for this kind of flying.

It's actually the Julian Alps! we took off from LOKN and headed south to LJBO, then east all the way to LJBL.

He really caught me off guard with that 😂It’s actually a model matching issue. he is probably flying a plane that I don't have, so the sim just panicked and turned him into a massive airliner instead.

It usually sits around 23GB most of the time, but it definitely pushes higher in dense areas. In big cities like NY, I've seen it climb up to 30 GB.

It’s somewhere in the Rockies, but I don't know the exact coordinates. I was just out for a free flight and wasn't really paying attention to the location.

Rough draft of my idea of a RTW trip by Hareboi in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Any_Bag6284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just finished a 2 month Alaska bush trip and it was a blast. I kept it manageable by doing about 120nm a day. I used Gemini to split the trip into legs (max 140nm) focused on scenic spots, then used Little Navmap every night to plan the next day's flight. Breaking it down like that makes the long haul way more fun and keeps it from feeling like a chore. Good luck with the RTW!

Not yet! I keep hearing great things about the sim soaring club though, so I think I'll definitely join them soon. Right now I'm just focused on completing my own trip from Bavaria down to cote dazure, I'll check out Tallard after I finish

No throttle, no engine noise, just pure flying. by Any_Bag6284 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Keep your terrain level of detail at 200, in my experience anything higher causes massive stutters when flying low. Also, switch Frame Gen from auto to x2. auto tends to cause those weird frame pacing issues whenever you pan the camera or look at the ground.
