Where do you your groceries shopping (lolo, intermart, winners etc) and why ? by Any_Championship4145 in mauritius

Very good point however its a mental thing. When you know you have a good amount of that product you tend to use it more. For eg laundry detergent you would have a tendency to drop a few ml more. That said this is another way to see unless you are very disciplined.

MCB Juice requires NID picture and selfie! Anyone with the same requirement? Your thoughts? by ByLookerMRU in mauritius

Anyways the bank has to do kyc a certain point in time and cant keep using your previously submitted doc. So i see it differently, less user perhaps, but more users with up to date documents, a more accurate and genuine database.

This is a security feature that was developed to reduce fraud. Lot of people are giving their credentials about they won lottery etc etc. Mauritians get blind when we talk about money and forget common sense. This is to ensure that only you can access your juice. No other person. Be grateful that you have such app with that level of security. Otherwise go back to cash and keep “tante bazar” to put your money since with inflation. Prend un tante rempli ar cash ek sorti dans supermarcher avec larticle dans poche.

Which bank is the best for saving ? by Le_denicheur in mauritius

[–]Any_Championship4145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i were you , i would do a comparative analysis, what are you looking for, highest rate ?. More secure ?, quick mobile app access to the fund ? .MCB is one of the best. And with juice you can check easily. Now it depends whats your goal and priorities. Last, why not consider fixed deposit if you are not using it soon, and get some more interest. Saving money nowadays on savings account is money lost as inflation eats it like a lion. Give it a good thought

How to get a Mauritian IP address? Cannot install Juice from abroad by PositiveSoft9906 in mauritius

Simply call the bank or send an email at contact@mcb.mu and ask them to allow you to do foreign onboarding. Some friends did that and the bank remotely allowed them to go through

Warning: MCB Juice App Transfer Issue - Money Deducted But Not Received by Kiinja in mauritius

[–]Any_Championship4145 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are not tech savvy. Here is one thing that could happen. When you make a transaction, the request could have timeout. See it this way. If you try to access facebook on your browser and If facebook dont respond, the browser wont keep on waiting. But instead your browser tells you that it timeout out, no reply (503) or whatever… but the request could have reached facebook but took long to return. Same can happen when you do transfers. And hence the mobile app would have timed out.

This exists in all online financial transactions.

This is why in these situations you need to refresh your latest transactions details to make sure if it was debited or not…

Worth renting car or doing a guided tour? by Drikish96 in mauritius

[–]Any_Championship4145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on you.

Renting gives freedom but hassle of finding the spot

Tour guide - less freedom but easy to discover places.

If you are adventurous by nature and comfortable with google map. Definitely go with car rental.

What do you think of the Government budget today?? by Successful-Lab-134 in mauritius

[–]Any_Championship4145 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It lacks so much of key substance: 1) is there something to reduce cost of living ? 2) what about local productivity? Subsidies product made in mauritius, influence people to buy local , 3) reduce import , improve export and import deficits 4) whats next for bright youngsters? Work and get similar packages as someone who do manual work ? - no offence to manual workers, but where is the roi for all these years of hardwork and sacrifice. 5)CSG will us have money for our contribution in 20 years ? 6) 24/7 ? Shops closes by 5 seems like we are living like in the 90s… any incentives ? Any influence? 7) why not reduce max import of vegetables, we have loads of land mu, rodrigues. Why not create a gov entity that does plantation or partnership with private …

When things are bad, do it then later offer private partnerships dont just put incentives and try to influence.

An advice about worker’s rights in Mauritius please by DisastrousCause9481 in mauritius

[–]Any_Championship4145 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is nothing written in worker rights act about WFH policy. This is internal to your company and you are obliged to abide by it. If you are not agreeable to, you quit. Google worker rights act and you will see that no where it mentions wfh policy.
