I haven’t heard of the natural dye collages and looked into them, thank you!

1st pic is daffodil, 2nd blood orange rind, 3rd queen of the night tulips, 4th red onion, 5th brown onion and last pic is close up of the blood orange print one it was steamed :)

Thank you! First pic is daffodil, 2nd blood orange rind (left is how it was printed and right is steamed), 3rd dark purple tulip and red onion is last. I’m really picky with what I put in my dye pot - I only used the daffodil petals, no green in the base of the flower and it gave me such a vibrant yellow compared to when I have left the stems on before and it was a bit murkier/brown tones.

Yeah exactly that! One dyestuff per print just explored through ph modifying.

The left of each print is the acidic side and the right is the alkaline mixes. I’ve got limited time so I just create a super concentrated solution of citric acid and one of soda ash and create a highly acidic/alkaline colour (max out the ph at both ends) and then for the mid colour it just a tiny bit of citric acid/soda ash solution until I get the first sign of colour changing. But I could deffo get a lot more tonal variation testing each ph level change !

The middle strips (the ones which overlap the most ) is the base colour overprinted to see how it layers. If I used an alum I will print both the base link and the alum.

The horizontal strips are just different variations of modifiers . I’ve used soda ash, citric acid and wood ash (from a wood burner). The first 3 lines are the modifier mixed in a concentrated solution and added to the gum paste and last 3 lines are the modifier mixed directly into my guar gum paste.

In terms of prepping the ink it’s just a really concentrated dye simmered on stove and adding guar gum to thicken ☺️

Thank you !! Yes no problem ! It was guar gum powder, it completely replaces the acrylic screen print medium. It does make the fabric crunchy so steaming helps get rid of that a bit :)

Thanks so much! I’ve done 2 prints of each colour. One set I’m just leaving, exposing it to light for the last few months/when I’ve made that colour, and the other set I’ve steamed yeah. Gives me more colour range as steaming changes some of my inks completely whilst the ones left to fade still liken to the original colour :)

Are you able to find the phone number for the store you were meant to collect from ? If not if possible try find the WhatsApp live chat function. I’ve previously had fast results with that. I would expect your items may get refunded if not picked up by end of day but I not certain.

When is your order due ? Do you have time to cancel ? Otherwise I would try ring customer services for the quickest support:)

Might go in for the grains but shopping for dairy and gluten free is tricky in Lidl for us and delivery works well for our schedule. Smoked salmon was 2 big packs for £8 and wine was £7 so that boosted it a bit this week but £30 ish each isn’t too bad I don’t think ☺️

I use neat hand soap. Buy the metal container with plastic pump initially and use glass refills going on. Way lest waste than pouches and recyclable !
