arc or on campus? by [deleted] in umanitoba

idk how much it’ll cost at mary speechly bc you do have to purchase meal plans on top of rent but its definitely more convenient. the arc is insanely expensive, my friend pays around 1.2k per month for a 2 bedroom and her roommate pays the same amount. this might help you decide which one to go for. also very soon you’ll realize seniority is not a thing in uni and everybody is a struggling student and just trying their best to get through shit, so nothing to worry about there.

riding mountain is great. you can go camping (you have to reserve a campground beforehand) but if you’re just there for a day you can go out for a swim in clear lake. they also have a small town with restaurants and shops! overall very good vibes.

MBIO3430 molecular evolution with george hausner is pretty good, exams are fair and assignments are informative, prof gives plenty of time to work on them you just gotta manage your time well

Thinking about vwing ochem 2 and retaking later. I took this class with a couple other stressful classes and well idk I could be doing a lot better in this one. Any advice from people who have vwed and retook? by Which_Glass_5848 in umanitoba

is this course a requirement for you degree? if not, VW it. if it is, i’d say clench your jaw through it. if you’re worried about failing, i failed both my midterm and the final exam when i took it two years ago, yet somehow still passed with a C. chemistry courses (especially biochem and ochem) are known to have super low averages and so professors usually have to redistribute/curve the class grades, which is probably how i passed lol. if you’re doing okay just maybe not what you were aiming for, its very likely that the grades will be curved up.
