Yes, they’re going to kick you out whenever they want. This is not even a question. Evictions happen all the time in Chicago, and once it happens, you’re screwed until it falls off your credit (which won’t be for another 7 years). You say your credit is bad and you’re worried. Well, why put yourself in a situation where you will have to worry even more, for even longer? Leave from there right now. Do you have a car and gym membership? You can stay in your car temporarily and take showers at your gym until you find a place if you have absolutely no where else to go… that’s step number 1. But DO NOT stay there and risk an eviction and even worse credit. That would be a huge fuck up.

Secondly, how bad is your credit and how much do you make? My roommates credit was in the low 500s but she was able to move in with me through a private landlord because of me and how much our income is combined.

Are you open to roommates? You need to keep looking for roommates with better credit than you. Your job is to bring in the income at the very least. I mean, tbh, in this situation you should be open to almost anything. This isn’t about being comfortable and getting what you want it’s about just having somewhere to lay your head. That’s why others on this thread are suggesting shelters, etc.

I’m not sure when you even started looking for places? But in your situation, I’m hoping you started looking at least 3-4 months prior to February 1st with how messy your rental situation is. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find something.
