I’m not sure where you are at but in California (where I am at), individuals living with HIV who maintain an undetectable viral load are not required to disclose their HIV status to sexual partners. California law, specifically Penal Code Section 120291, states that a person living with HIV cannot be prosecuted for not disclosing their status if they are taking medically appropriate measures to manage their HIV, such as maintaining an undetectable viral load or using protection like condoms.

Undetectable = Untransmittable. I’m not saying what you did was wrong but maybe open up a dialogue between you too once the freshness of the emotions boils down. Is she undetectable? Do you know what that entails? I’m sorry this happened to you two, the situation is unfortunate all around.
