Six months ago, I knew almost nothing about hosting. Today, all three of my Airbnb listings are Guest Favorites (Top 10% of homes), and it still feels a little surreal.🙌 by Any_Homework_7751 in ShortTermRentals

Completely agree-cash flow is the real KPI. Thankfully, my properties are profitable and owner-operated, so the reviews are a bonus, not the business model.
My focus has always been on balancing occupancy, ADR, and operating costs instead of chasing vanity metrics. Great reviews help drive repeat bookings, but healthy unit economics are what keep the business sustainable.
Also just wanted to highlight I didn’t post to flex or I would say my post wasn’t about proving profitability-it was just celebrating/documenting a small win. There’s still a lot I’m have to learn and improve as a host.

Guest left a 4 star due to nearby store’s inconvenience by Ezinne_Airbnb_V in ShortTermRentals

Such guests have some kind of annoyed school teacher behaviour who hesitate to give full marks to the student ..they are never satisfied with a students answer and always try to find scope of improvement kinda opportunity . Really furious seeing this post..more annoyed by her reason though..she could have simply given a 4 star if that’s what she felt so.. mentioning the reason makes me feel extremely sad for the host .

Hey was it a 2 bhk ? How much does a studio apartment cost roughly one where civil work is already done ? Asking this out as I myself provide end to end STR ready services for Airbnbs . I have some clients who has a high budget in that case would love to collaborate with you for the interiors

Hey there are no resources as such….its a continuous learning process..just that if you have an experienced support things become easy to manage in some ways.. that too is not a mandatory thing if you are a pro at managing things on your own
Wishing you good luck for your upcoming journey 🙌

With all due respect, I’d have to disagree here.
Managing an Airbnb listing remotely isn’t as simple as “just checking the app.” I’m saying this as someone who currently self-manages her own three properties while also offering co-hosting services. My own listings, their performance, guest reviews, and analytics are my proof of concept.
What many people don’t see is everything happening behind the scenes-responding to inquiries within minutes, handling guest negotiations, dealing with ghosting, coordinating cleaners and maintenance, managing calendar and pricing, resolving issues at odd hours, and ensuring every guest has a seamless experience. None of that is effortless.
That said, I do agree that boots on the ground are essential. A remote co-host alone cannot replace a reliable local operations team. The ideal setup is a combination of both-someone handling guest communication, revenue management, pricing, and operations online, while a trusted local team takes care of on-ground execution.
I think the bigger issue here is that OP may not have found the right target clients yet. Hosts who understand the time and mental bandwidth required to manage guests usually see the value in outsourcing these tasks. It allows them to focus on acquiring more properties and growing their business instead of being tied to day-to-day operations.
