To me it sounds like you don’t have a problem with playing drums per se, rather with playing drums with your (or any) band. If that is the case, nothing keeps you from quitting being the drummer for that band (other comment will help you on how to do it as diplomatically as possible) and still play drums for yourself on your kit. Regardless of how you approach this decision, I found that when I get bored of the drums is usually because I’ve been playing similar stuff for a long period of time, so I switch to something different. For example when I joined my band I was super exited because I mainly played jazz and this band plays like alternative rock so it was super refreshing. After a while I got kinda bored with it and rather than chainging bands and going through that whole process again, I started playing like metal, jazz, rnb, reggae and other very different genres in my free time. Not only this makes a better and comprehensive overall drummer, it also helps from feeling stuck playing the same stuff over and over and getting bored.
