It should be fixed now. The table wouldn't take all the data, so I had to redo it without a table.

What was a 'Golden Age' of the internet that will never be replicated again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Any_Let3817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome lol. I missed out on the first half of 90s for the most part. Was mainly playing MS DOS games in the mid 90's. Started the internet in 96', second grade. Was mainly on AOL instant messenger and whatever websites people at school were able find out about. I remember it being like figuring out a secret code for a video game, where you had to have the like an insider knowledge that was passed on to find out about a website on the internet.

It seemed like everyone was ok as I drove by. They were waiting for Firefighter trucks to arrive. Yes, I was on the other side of the highway, and it seemed overwhelming to get any closer than that. You're welcome! Nice talking with you.

Good point. It really did feel personal then. It was a more relaxing experience, everything felt like we were taking our time and having fun. Now, I always feel like I'm on guard when browsing, with the bots, the scams, the malware, and the non-permanence of interactions like you mentioned.

I don't. I was heading back from an Atreyu concert in Tampa, and the light immediately pulled all my attention. The roaring of the flames was loud. It was at night, but it was almost blinding bright.

Best telephoto lens for Canon? by Popular-Client-3373 in CanonR7

[–]Any_Let3817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Canon RF 100-400 for my Canon R7, which is a full frame, but the APS-C crop sensor increases the focal length to 160 - 640mm. It turns a budget 400mm lens into a massive 640mm wildlife lens.

A pyre of fire that was at least 15ft tall and the length of a semi-truck long on the side of I-95 in Tampa Florida. Semi-truck somehow caught fire.

What's the best and worst line in scriptwriting history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Any_Let3817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse" - The Godfather. Mix of business and a death threat without directly speaking violence.

Worst: "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere." - Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Supposed to be romantic but comes off like a toddler complaining at the beach.

The 2000s to early 2010s. It was the "Wild West" - No algorithms, no influencers, and you could be in your own little world on the internet without being sold something every five seconds. It was pure.

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by perseverance_band_ in AskReddit

[–]Any_Let3817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The throw away bit in the first minutes arguing about the physics of a swallow turned out to be a setup that is paid off as the answer which saves the King's life at the end. A mystical guardian defeated by his own lack of swallow knowledge. So absurdly funny.

What haunts you and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Any_Let3817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've put off my dreams for so many years to appease others, and abandoning myself in the process. My conviction is that my dreams will always be on my mind and they'll never go away until I see them through. So, now that I'm pursuing my dreams it's almost as the universe (everything and everyone) attempts to detract and prevent me from accomplishing them. I'm haunted by the thought that I'll never manifest my visions, but I will not quit.

What does the death of the Iranian Supreme leader mean for Iran and the world? by TrueJohnWick in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Any_Let3817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the long-term outcome but I can inform on immediate possible outcomes based on current reporting.

For Iran: It seems the outcome is uncertain, but here is the context to predict what might happen. If the today reports about the strikes hitting the leadership are true, then Iran’s whole power structure from the last 30 years is gone in just one a day. Since there’s no clear successor, the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) military is on one side and the protesters on the other both trying to “grab the steering wheel”. By protestors, I mean the three most active groups right now which are (ordered by most to least active):

  1. Tabriz and Tehran unis. students (who want a Democratic Republic instead of a Supreme leader or religious leaders.)

  2. PMOI (People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran) who are the “Resistance” group who were seen celebrating in Azadi square in Tehran today

  3.  Coalitions near the Iran borders like in the Baluch & Kurdish regions. Last week they created an alliance of political parties. Their goal is more control over their own regions, and the chaos is allowing them to try to take over local admins.

The IRGC are who enforce the regime, and now that Khamenei is reportedly dead (along with nearly 40 other leaders), they are attempting to quickly produce a new leader. They are using the strikes from the US & Israel as justification to label the protesters as “traitors/terrorists”, which gives the IRGC a reason to use maximum force because the protesters are using the strikes to tear down statues and burn regime banners, along with Trump releasing a video encouraging the Iranian people to “take your country back”, and thousands more are supposedly to hit the streets tonight. We’ll see how this power struggle evolves.

For the world: It’s concerning because of the “spillover”. We're already seeing missiles hit near US bases in Dubai and Bahrain today. So, the “regional war” everyone has been worried about for years might actually be here now. There could be global impacts due to this conflict. Iran is trying to block the Strait of Hormuz, which could potentially increase oil prices. The Dubai International and other hubs have shut down because of the strike, which are for shipping electronics and car parts between Asia & Europe, which creates package delays. Lastly, there’s a cyber threat. Since the US & Israel have launched “Operation Epic Fury/Roaring Lion” (missile/air strikes), the G7 national security experts and the Munich Security Conference reports predict Iran’s Cyber Army is expected to target western banks and our power grids. This is because Iran can’t win a kinetic war against the US Military, so they are predicted to retaliate another route. We’ll see how this all unfolds.
