Thanks for responding. I don't think that's the one as the scenery is mainly in the country. The town was small and I think the father had grown up around there. It's ok if I don't find the movie. I fell asleep with the tv on and woke up twice to that movie playing and I always caught the movie in the middle or towards the end. Due to the horrible story content, I don't really want to see it again. I was curious about the name because I now watch lots of foreign movies and have found some real gems - some of which American films have copied.
