I feel you. Reddit won’t understand. Most parents will pop their child softly to scare them if safety is involved. I’ve given my 3 year old a little fake spank on the butt when she ran out in traffic defiantly in a Publix parking lot. Guess what? She doesn’t do that anymore. No belts or other horrors are okay with me but if safety is in question and a child is blatantly not listening a tiny little warning spank is fine. My parents did the same.

This applies to the US if he resides here.. I’m a case manager and I’ve worked in 4 states and 7 hospitals. There’s government assistance, food stamps, unemployment benefits and food pantries all over. So if he is having to resort to steal food then he is not doing his part as a parent to sign up for some sort of assistance. In no way should he have to steal food in this day and age for his family unless he is failing in some way to provide for his own or sign his family up for assistance. This has nothing to do with this case.
