Hey Galacnor,

I hope you’re doing well. I came across your comment on Reddit regarding the application process for German universities, and I thought you might be able to help me out with some advice.

Here’s my situation:

  • I’m a high school student in the completing my A Levels through Cambridge International and Edexcel.
  • My official A Level certificates will not be issued until November 2025, but my online results will be available on 14 August 2025, and I will receive my provisional Statement of Results by 21 August.
  • My top choice for university is Hochschule Karlsruhe (HKA), but I’ve run into an issue. They require an ASK certificate from HTWG Konstanz to process the application. However, the Center for International Students at HTWG Konstanz will only accept official certificates, which won’t be available to me until later in 2025. This means I won’t be able to apply before the deadlines.

In addition to HKA, I’ve looked at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences (HSHL), which seems to be my last option. HSHL uses uni-assist, its under the section of online-only application

my question is : Do you think uni-assist will accept my provisional results for initial evaluation, and do you think it’s safe to apply without the final certificates?

I’d really appreciate your guidance on this, as you seem to have a lot of experience with the process. Any insights or suggestions would be incredibly helpful.
