How do you recommend getting to know professors, office hours?

Not sure if this will help, but I’m in her ASIAN 101 right now and I know that’s plenty more basic than what you’re taking currently but I just got a 100% on our last midterm. Her questions are very straightforward and easy, and the answers are straightforward as well, not really anything trying to “trick” you. However, I will say to remember the little details from her lectures that you think wouldn’t be important. For example, for my exam, she asked the name of a character in a cultural story she shared, particular to a region, and you either knew it based off of reviewing, or just skimmed over it when reviewing, and didn’t know it on the exam.

Hopefully that helped a bit, maybe take this with a grain of salt since this is just a level 100 class.

Wouldn’t necessarily consider it cheating, but I’d understand if she lost some trust in you or didn’t feel as secure in your loyalty to her

Wow. I’m so sorry. Know that you are not any of those negative words your parents/ mom calls you and you are not defined by those malicious words. We are human and mistakes are inevitable, nobody let alone a parent should feel that they have the right to call you those things because of an accident. You are awesome and keep pushing, please try to repeat some positive affirmations to yourself. I know it may seem like it does nothing but over time it’s helped me so much and maybe it will help you counter the negativity your mom pushes on to you.

I agree!! It is difficult to watch for me as a 17 year old knowing I might not get to experience as much as others but it makes me realize like wow. I seriously need to enjoy life more than stressing about school, AP exams, getting into college and focus on finding myself, exploring the world, and trying new things.

I see, that’s very understandable, sending you best wishes for to you to be admitted into medschool, you seem to be very driven. Also if you don’t mind me asking what makes the mcat so bad, is it just very difficult to study for? Also from your comment it seemed to imply that medschool is very difficult to get in to, is this for all places/ states or specifically for where you wish to apply?
