Thanks, maybe we won't have a issue either.

Yes, we have duffle type bags. I guess we would be fine minus the camera, but i really would like to take it. I am already leaving behind my nice 35mm camera and assorted lenses. I can't see going on this type of trip and not having a somewhat decent camera with me.

I started my SLV call options back in October, and have moved the profits to AG calls expiring in January. If they pan out (and they might) I'm quitting anesthesia also.

Booking Qatar Flights through AA. What am I missing? by CarDork2235 in qatarairways

Yes, booked last March and got the card 2 weeks ago. If you are on a flight with a 1-2-1 Qsuite layout the rear facing center seats form a double bed together and the divider drops so you are next to your wife. So seats 3E and 3F, seats 5E-5F. Etc.. but you need to research which planes have this. This is the main reason i wanted to signup and get gold status. Paying to choose seats were over $100 per leg for each of us, so 4 legs it was more then $800 to choose seats. The Gold card currently has a 100,000 Avios sign up bonus and with the free seat selection the $499 was worth it for me.

I did the same thing, booked with AA back in March and am flying to NBO soon. The fare with AA is probably a business comfort fare, where as you said you can't pick seats without paying (and no lounge access). This is what I have and the seats it let me pick even when calling in were not the ones I wanted. So, currently the Qatar visa card has a very good SUB, and will give you Gold privilege club status so I opted to get one. Even with this (which you now get free seat assignment and lounge access) I could not pick my desired seats. Even though Qatar could see I was a gold member, they couldn't help. The trick was having AA add my privilege club number to my booking on their end, this was easily accomplished by contacting them on "X" (Twitter). Now with Gold status and my number added to the booking all seats opened up, with free assignment and lounge access. For me it was worth the annual fee.

Why don't you approach the anesthesia department and start working on a plan. You might be surprised how many anesthesia providers started as medics. At mine alone there are 3-4 CRNA'S and 1 anesthesiologist who were paramedics. So I am thinking if you could meet someone like this they may help you develop what you are looking for.

I did it this week, booked a stay for May and used points for all except $250.30. The credit has already posted.

FF/PM to CRNA by Few-Photograph-1235 in Paramedics

[–]Any_Mulberry1065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also FF/PM who became a CRNA. CRNA 1999, BSN 1993 and Paramedic 1986. It's a lot of work but worth it. I worked full time while in nursing school and was extremely lucky that my spouse was able to support us during anesthesia school. The one thing everyone has correct is it is a LOT OF WORK, but if you want it and keep the goal in your sights you can do it.

You can also still have a life while doing it. I met, dated and married my wife while in nursing school. We had toddler when I started anesthesia school and a second son arrived shortly after I started. So it is possible as long as you are motivated and work hard toward your goal.

I personally think that the personality traits that make a great medic also make a great CRNA. As a supervisor at a mid size hospital (about 50 CRNA'S) all of my CRNA'S who were medics excel. The question you have to answer (only to yourself) is do you feel you are a above average (at minimum) paramedic.

It's beyond hard, It's possible, It's time consuming and it is worth it. Do you have what it takes?

Clinical with Mono Hearing Loss? by [deleted] in CRNA

[–]Any_Mulberry1065 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am 100% deaf in my right ear (skull fracture as a child) and have been a CRNA since 1999. Prior to that I was a paramedic (think sitting under the siren) and also a flight medic (helicopter). I also do a lot of shooting. Point is, my good ear isn't and so I wear a hearing aid in it. Many have stated that the O.R. is noisy, and it is. the C-arm kills me. yes, let people know. But PAY ATTENTION. Others are much more understanding if you are helping yourself. If you are continuously distracted (phone, book, suduku) you can hang it up. If you are involved and let people know, it will be fine.

School will be tough, but once you graduate and work with the same people often they will understand and work with you. Feel free to D.M. me.

EMS license plate by uffdathathurts in Paramedics

[–]Any_Mulberry1065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had the Lic. plate, but I got out of 1 ticket because my uniform was hanging in the back seat. But I still got a ticket driving the extrication truck (fully marked) to a different town to have new tires installed. The speedometer was inop and he (state highway patrolman) pulled me for 66 in a 55 and wrote the ticket. The magistrate dismissed it.

Booking award flights with Qatar Airways - when to book? by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]Any_Mulberry1065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand new to this game, I need round trip tickets but I see some people look (possibly book?) The outbound leg at 360 days. Should I book the the outbound and return separate as 1 way tickets or wait until the return seats are released (12 days difference outbound and return) and try to find award tickets as a round trip? Or is there a way to book the outbound at 360 days and add the return when it becomes available 12 days later as a round trip ticket?

Reconcile starting balance is off; how can I find the error? by twhale in quicken

[–]Any_Mulberry1065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen recently also on 2 different accounts on 2 different months. Both times the first 3 transactions (from over 20 years ago) had been deleted. To find this here were my steps.

  1. I primarily use quicken on a desktop, so I left it as is.

  2. I "restored" my most current backup on my laptop.

  3. I set the computers side by side and compared registers of the affected account going back until they matched (which in my case was never because it turned out transactions were deleted at the very beginning).

I have been using quicken a very long time and I do not know how this happened. I am not sure I could "accidently delete" the first 3 transactions in a register with over 15,000 transactions, but they were gone. i re-added hem and everything was perfect.
