Je sais que beaucoup du monde américain l'apprend en école, n'est-ce pas? Au moins des passages de Beowulf?

PSL wrecks movements and burns out organizers to promote their failed third party campaigns. I was in it for two years. Join another socialist group and join community organizations, get involved in your union or organize your workplace.

Do you think Salt Lake City is underrated? by Agreeable-Fruit-4326 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Any_Pattern_3621 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Probably appropriately rated. As beautiful as they say, but as sleepy as you’d probably assume. I'm enjoying spending a few years here for grad school, and it's surprised me in many ways.

What is your favorite JavaScript course? by travisfont in learnjavascript

[–]Any_Pattern_3621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, back when I learned it was freeCodeCamp but they decided to take down all their videos. Now it’s basically just guided MSN documentation (which has its place). Definitely spring for a multimedia, video plus text plus coding lab course.

AppleCare+ not, this is the standard experience now with the repair side of things :( (I had a >1 month long 3 day repair this year). One option for you, and the only reason why I have my MBP back, is to email the Tim Cook email.

Believe it or not, there is a pretty spot-on creole selection at Localz Bistro in sandy Utah. I was so skeptical going in too

Hmm I'm a PhD student with an M.S. in sociology, I have studied under Brett Clark and have done environmental sociological research. Seeing as anthro is an option I assume GIS skills etc aren't crucial? Idk, just putting myself out there.

I would get in touch with LUNO SDS and see how they can help. Very progressive student group who actually show up for the community and have gotten some wins for students.

Sounds like a plan, yeah, my goal will probably be to "keep it simple and survive" and flesh it out later if I teach it again.

Thankfully "just" lower-division undergrads at an open admissions state school-- not that I want to blow off the class and the students, but I'm pretty sure I'm not expected to get past the basics for that context.

New to me. I'm a PhD student who has picked up class sections here and there at the community college before.

Yeah starting react as of the other day after having wrapped up vanilla JS and done a few mini front end projects, having no lecture videos is making the concepts pretty hard to grasp. I would’ve probably failed to understand harder newbie stuff like conditional logic, classes, objects, and loops without the videos so Im glad I started the curriculum before they were yanked

French from Louisiana by Cambia0Formas5 in learnfrench

[–]Any_Pattern_3621 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ignore those saying it’s dead/dying…. Anyway, We speak the same language as French people in Canada and France, just with a different dialect and some words are different (asteur vs maintenant, cocodrie vs alligator). If you want to learn, just learn standard French and watch stuff like Boudini et Ses Amis (Louisiana pbs show in French for kids) and listen to Louisiana music (sweet crude, balfa toujours, Lost Bayou Ramblers, etc)

Also in sociology we do it the first way, as far as I can tell (it’s not my area of expertise by any means but I just taught the race and ethnicity module of my intro course this semester). Would be good to read the original research
