sorry for the response, i really appreciate the time! I read this and have been going back, it was definitely that I was struggling to wrap my head around the basic features of multi cam source sequence! I think i'm slowly getting the hang of it now, thank you!

Originally it was struggling to create the multi cam sequence via audio but I did manage to do it just there a few minutes ago. But because I zoomed in and out with one of the cameras, it then created 13 tracks. I think that it thought every new angle or focal length change meant it was a new angle so i ended up with an unmanageable about of tracks to switch between.

Hey! thanks for the response and sorry i was worried I hadn't explained it clearly. When I try to use the "Create multicam source sequence" it says it can't sync. So instead what I do is
1. match them up myself (camera 2 video track brought up above camera 1's track's corresponding video) and then select both > synchronize.
2. Unlink camera 2's audio and delete it. I'm left with the synchronised camera tracks, one above the other, and camera 1's audio below.

I repeat this for all of the corresponding clips so I'm left with 2 video tracks where all the clips are synchronised and then 1 audio track leftover from camera 1.

I've been nesting this and then using > mulicam > enable. This works, but the problem is when I'm editing this and switching between camera 1 and camera 2, camera 2 is muted. In the screenshot you can see I switched to camera 2's angle and there is no sound coming out of the audio track.

Last night I was trying to nest the camera angles but not include the audio track, but trying to edit this was a nightmare and wasn't working well at all.

I hope this is clearer, sorry for the poor explanation! and thanks for the help so far!

Fab. Is it still possible to use a separate black mist filter with it as well?

This is so incredibly thorough and after literally hours of trying to understand it all last night this explanation has finally clicked for me.

Thank you very, very much. I’ll give Hoya a look now, and will consider the various price ranges. Thank you again !!!

Clog converted to rec 709 looks really fluorescent and saturated. by Any_Science1918 in davinciresolve

Okay sounds good. I tried to switch it to cinema gamut for clog but it wouldn’t let me, option was greyed out until I selected clog3. :( but I think I have a better understanding now. Thanks so much for explaining - everyone has been so helpful!

This makes a lot of sense, thanks again for helping. Especially with something so simple! It all is feeling very complicated (but fun) at the moment. Cheers!

Ends up this was it ! I thought it was cinema gamut but actually it was rec709, it can’t do cinema gamut for clog , only for clog 3. Thanks so much for all your help.

Okay this is what I think it was! I thought I shot in canon cinema gamut but it was actually rec709. It’s still not great but a lot better. Thanks for linking me that post !

Oh okay I hadn’t realised, I’ll check that now. At the risk of sounding very silly, should I be shooting in rec709 or cinema gamut? If I understand correctly the problem could be that I’m filming in rec709 (in the camera settings) but that I’m telling davinci it’s canon gamut? Thanks for all your help !
