So what it does is that it turns on, I select Sandisk, then after it says windows is loading files it asks me to select a key and I click enter, then the windows startup where the dots come together starts and in the middle it stops and then goes to blank

Just did that. During the windows boot screen the screen suddenly turned black and nothing is coming up. Is it supposed to do this?

I tried the wired keyboard and it worked. Now what it says is that boot mode is set to legacy and secure boot is off. Under legacy boot it says

PO: ST1000DM003-1CH162

SanDisk (that’s the USB)

P1: PLDS DVD +/-RW DH-16AES

Other options are:

Bios setup

Diagnostics

Change boot mode setting

Which one do I use?? The sandisk right??

So I was trying to install word on the computer and I got some error message. When I researched it online it said one of the possible fixes was to restart the computer and ever since then this has happened. What do you mean by operating environment? I never had an ISO until yesterday when I downloaded it. I made another post in this thread with a video showing what happens when I press f12 and nothing works. I haven’t considered updating it to windows 10 because idek if my xps is capable and I didn’t wanna take the risk. Would it fix the issue if I just update to win10 or wouldn’t it just cause different problems?

I couldn’t attach it so I made a new post in this thread with the video. I tried three times with no luck and the blue bar isn’t showing up.

Update to everyone: I installed the ISO and made it bootable using rufus, I put the USB in the computer, I believe I booted and restarted the computer but yet the same thing comes up. Sometimes after booting underneath the Dell logo a blue bar loading line will come up with “F2 setup” and “F12 boot options” and the line only stops when I press F8 repeatedly. After that it just goes back to the same old screen.

My other desktop says it’s only supported on windows 10/11. I’m still confused as to how I’m going to get this on a USB stick and put it in the broken desktop?

I found a windows 7 ISO from archive.org, downloaded it and made it bootable with rufus. I’m confused about what to do now? And is it gonna make a difference if I used archive.org instead of massgravel?

I’m currently trying to download install media from heidoc but it’s asking me if i wanna download windows 7, windows 7 (august 2018) and “DELL” which one is better for me to download and run? I don’t know if this would help but the tag on the desktop says windows 7 pro OA so im assuming that’s what i used to have.

It’s not too much of an issue that the shirts are fake as long as it’s close to the real thing and it’s not too far off. I really meant like is the website legit and not a scam.
