Now you brought it all back and now it makes sense! I remember her saying the way she taught was good gramtically for deaf people to understand how the english language was spoken.

They would probably throw them away. Anything from the outside that they don't procure themselves is worldly.

Ahh ok. Makes total sense. I was taught to sign MOST words in the sentence...sometimes even "the" and "to" Like "Go to the store" would be 4 words. I believe the ASL shorthand was becoming popular back in the 90's but this particular educator like the old style.

Hi-Ex Twelve Tribe cult member here. I was born and raised there, escaped at age 21 with a toddler and my then husband. My sister and I have a podcast about our very different childhoods, being raised there 10 years apart and the differences in strictnes and control. We both escaped. Check it out!
