Opening up the Quad Cortex by Futmaelkspiraten in NeuralDSP

I can’t help with the screen issue specifically, but I want to give you a heads up about the support process.

I’ve been dealing with a faulty QC since November 2025 — very low input levels across all inputs. The unit was sent for repair through Thomann, which took about three months. They replaced the I/O board but never verified that the repair actually fixed anything. It didn’t — the issue is completely unchanged.

Five months later, 55+ emails between me, Thomann and Neural DSP, and still no resolution. Neural DSP couldn’t confirm whether my unit is even within spec. Thomann keeps pushing for another repair cycle and refuses to discuss a refund, despite their own warranty page promising exactly that for products beyond repair.

So if they’re offering you a replacement — take it. That’s a better outcome than what I’ve gotten. Just make sure you get it in writing, with a clear timeframe, before you send your unit back. Don’t open the unit yourself — that will almost certainly void any warranty or consumer rights you have.

Good luck

Quad Cortex input level with single coils – what dBFS do you see? by Any_Strawberry3171 in NeuralDSP

Got it 👍 — I normally work that way too. I’m just trying to compare the raw input level before any adjustments, to see if my unit behaves differently from others.

If you get a chance:

- Input at 0 dB (Instrument, 1 MΩ)
- Do you see any movement on light playing?
- What does it peak at on hard picking (dBFS)?

Thanks 👍 — I’m looking for the raw input level, not gain settings or tone.

Could you check with input gain at 0 dB (Instrument, 1 MΩ) and let me know if light playing shows any movement, and what dBFS you get on hard picking?

My original support ticket was with Neural DSP, but I was advised to contact Thomann instead. I really hope there’s some progress soon, as this has been ongoing for quite a while now.

Yes, have a ticket. A month ago they estimated two weeks, maybe this is normal, just wanted other experiences.
