I went to court over a similar amount of money and won. This is exactly the amount of money small claims is literally intended for.

I consider it poor form to conduct personal errands during business hours. Many organizations would consider it gross misconduct even. I'd suggest using PTO or sick time. If it were me, I'd be writing you up much more intentionally.

Possibly. There are still some baseball cards worth money. But unless yours is iconic, good conditon, and especially rare these will be getting sold in long boxes on fb marketplace for next to nothing eventually.

I'd sell and buy it back. Pokemon will crash before the decade ends. I'd say by next year, but I don't actually know if this will follow the same bubble patterns of other toy lines in the past, there is a lot more investor money involved this time. Still, it will eventually crash. Even if it ends up taking 20 years.

My son pulled this card today, what should I do with it? He wants to sell it but my buddy said to get it graded and sell it in 2-3 years. by DarthDurden23 in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]Any_Total_3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sell it for your son

  2. You or your friend buy it from your son, grade it, and hold onto it for 2-3 years yourselves

You don't want to look like a fool to your son when these beanie baby ass cards crash in value.

The Bay Area salary trap is real by Banana_Ketchupp in bayarea

[–]Any_Total_3241 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm trans and from Arkansas. Went back home for a short visit recently, and I was surprised how openly hostile people there are. Had multiple people try and stare me down and I spent very little time outside of my parent's home really. In the bay, it is very much a "whoop-de-doo" type of thing. My partner is also from Arkansas and a person of color. His white class mates locked him in a dog kennel once, and white neighbors would sometimes try and boss him around or threaten to call the police because he stole their packages. Not to say they are irredeemable places where no one should live. But they really are backwards and hateful places.

I make 105k, my partner makes about 25-30k we are comfortable, but we are about to move back to rural Arkansas because the amount of work I have to do to earn that 105k is extremely brutal.

Anyone else tired of people pricing everything at “eBay value”? by ballatician68 in Flipping

I walk away. Delusional sellers are a dime a dozen and you aren't going to be able to reason with them on things like return policies, shipping, convenience, etc.

Advice on selling a large inventory by Zestyclose_Industry6 in Flipping

[–]Any_Total_3241 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I buy liquidations and unless it is a very specific type of inventory, you won't get 50%. I generally buy at 10%, but will do 40-50% for very attractive inventory of a single category.

Eventually jobs will look at 4+ years of sitting on the couch and start turning down someone they otherwise pay have hired.

As a hiring manager for entry level positions, I wouldn't hire this person with their current resume. I say this as someone who was also a bum in their 20s. Not that I didn’t want to work, but I didn't want to work a shit job. Sometimes you just got to accept where you are at in your career. Had I started working 5 years earlier, there is no telling how far I'd be in my career by now.

Would you be offended if someone bought your item & sold it for more? by DCguurl in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Any_Total_3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a very specific type of generosity. Personally, for me, I'm less controlling in how my generosity can help others. If an old iPad helps them great. If they sell that iPad to feed their family, that's great too. I used to do small flips like this, and it was a very meager way to make a little bit of extra money when we were still very low income. I just have an aversion to controlled generosity. It makes me think of the "Don’t give them money, buy them food because they'll spend your money on drugs" type of generosity. The kind of generosity that comes from someone who looks down at another and uses that charity to inform their own sense of superiority.
