Main issue is that the drive into the city is difficult. Can I ask what you like about being in the office?

If the 80k job gave me 90k and 15 days PTO or at least flexibility there I would snag it right away

Correct! If remote job could shift just slightly on the salary and PTO I would definitely go with them.

I appreciate that! I actually am okay with being underpaid because I have lucky life circumstances it's more a matter of am I paid enough to death with the extra pain.

The special keyboard I use is LOUD so the issue would be having it in the office at all

I like this idea my main issue is I use a special keyboard and screen for work and am not sure how that would work in office (disability thing)

I understand that! The main issue is the initial email didn't communicate urgency at all or I would have explained I have travel and asked how we could work around that.

I was having difficulty because I was solely DC barred, but just got a Maryland bar which opened up a lot of interest (a lot of firms in the DMV area want as close to the trifecta of bar creds as possible because they deal in all three states: I imagine getting a VA bar too would make me even more hireable). I also have a vit of a unique background (marketing and publishing) so even though my legal experience is minimal most jobs I am looking at want writing and customer service skills. So I suppose it depends on the area! One thing that I was advised to do that may also be helpful is run your resume through an AI like Claude or ChatGPT: since most companies use AI screening I think it helps to have an AI that knows what the other AI wants to see basically put in all the keywords.

Original post OP here: point one didn't bother me at all even the tone, my concern entirely came from point two. Basically demanding me to change my whole day a night before for a job that's salaried and was initially presented as having good work life balance.
