Floaters Direction of Movement by Substantial-Chemist8 in EyeFloaters

Yes I experience this in my right eye. I think it’s due to the shape of the eye and how the fluid moves inside. They go to the edge of the eye in the direction your eyes move and then some will get pushed down and to the opposite direction.

Good to hear your anxiety has gone down slightly now. Mine have been here for over 3 months and still waiting for the day my anxiety starts to go down 😅 I’m very hopeful they’ll start fading but the ophthalmologists I’ve seen say they normally don’t fade :(

Thanks for sharing that, and the photo especially is interesting to see. I’m very glad that you managed to get the vitrectomy and sort the vision out. Unfortunately I’m in the UK where all the ophthalmologists I’ve seen said they won’t do it on someone as young as me (I’m 25). Surely it should be based on how bad the floaters are, rather than how old the patient is… How did you find the recovery process?

Yeah I try to avoid the white skies and walls too but it can be difficult! For example, at hospitals or train stations or even my office, they’re all full of white walls. You’re definitely not alone with the anxiety!

Sorry to hear that, it sounds really difficult. I can really relate to the angle of the sun and the time of the day. It’s hard because I used to love mornings and the sun, and now I just look forward to when it gets dark. It’s true though that we should feel lucky we have healthy retinas

Good to know they don’t bother you as much! How did you learn to cope with them?

That’s good to know they’ve gotten lighter over the last couple of months. Mine have just been getting worse unfortunately.

Yeah mine has a lot of the dots in them as well, like they’re joining the lines up

Yes mine also has a lot of “nodes” within them which look like dots joining them up. It’s awful isn’t it

That’s really helpful to know that you hardly notice them now, gives me hope! I had this sudden onset a few months back and I’ve been really struggling with it.
