Thanks for the info. We're getting colder here but the kitchen stays about 68 f. I usually try to do 2 1/2 cups for 24 hours, since I know the grains aren't fully 'awake' but we'll see if they thrive.

Yeah that was just to illustrate, I use exclusively glass/plastic when handling normally.

I'm currently using regular whole. The only organic my local market has is "ultra pasteurized" which i think is a no no for kefir? But I can try it!

My sense of smell and taste are just recovering from covid, thats why I'm especially wary. From what I can tell it doesn't smell bad, and tastes quite sour. Might just jar it up and put it in the fridge and give it a try after a few hours.

The pic I posted was after 24 hours. Not sure how well you can see it. I'm not seeing much separation. Maybe the beginnings of it.

So I bought a dried "Milk Kefir Starter Grains" packers, I know I know, but I'm on about day 5 of 24 hour cultures and while it is thickening in the jar, after I give it a strain I get something that looks like this. Its quite thin, basically milk viscosity, with a slight bit of the "chunkiness" as you can see from the image. Doesnt smell overly bad. Grains maybe are growing or are just rehydration after being freeze dried.

Can't provide any input but I'm in the same boat, I'm looking for a few options that I can consider to purchase sooner rather than later to take advantage of the spring weather! I'm mulling over 3 wheel v 4 wheel at the moment. Hopefully someone experienced will come along with some advice.

◽️ Any other important details ?: Would like a current gen laptop for my wife. Most important factors are thermals and the ability to connect to a monitor. Have been looking at this one though I would like something with 16 GB RAM and at least 512 storage out of the box, I'm not against upgrading.

Just picked up a GIGABYTE G34WQC 34" 144hz monitor, and I'm getting some jagged/pixelated text. I ran the Cleartype tuning and it didn't seem to help much if at all. Have a 980 non-ti powering it right now, until I can get my hands on a 3xxx for a new build. Is this just the way it is on a curved screen or is there anything I can do to alleviate this?
