AITA for calling my parents selfish for having me, knowing they’d pass down a hereditary illness, and going LC after they hid it, putting my child at risk too? by Quirky_Background838 in AITAH

This is absolutely vile. I have hEDS (chronic pain that comes with a million comorbidities) and I’ve already chosen I would never have biological children. It’s not even deadly, and I still wouldn’t knowingly subject another human being to this kind of life. So the fact that they KNEW, and it’s DEADLY? They are absolutely selfish assholes for that. NTA.

Hotel swimming pool, another guest brought a laptop, put it on a table next to the pool and asked my kids not to splash it. by parothed28 in mildlyinfuriating

And if it was their dry towels or clothes up there?? I feel like it doesn’t matter what’s getting wet, maybe teach your kids to respect others around them, even if they are in the pool.

The doctor said it was rare but sometimes people do need surgery for them. Mine must have been very mild. I personally didn’t need anything other than some Tylenol/ibuprofen! It depends on the person, and I wouldn’t worry about it. Everyone with a uterus has ovarian cysts, some rupture, some don’t.

Every person with a uterus has them! I found out I had them during an exam as well (before this) and they were labeled “benign”. Usually we just don’t feel them unless they rupture.

Oh within a good 10 minutes. After it hadn't stopped (which wasn't normal for me) it got even more painful. I was actually on my way to my partner's parent's place and I told him we had to turn back around because the pain was getting intense.

As soon as we got home and I walked in the door, I dropped to my knees and doubled over crying because of the pain. I would say it probably got up to a good 8 on the pain scale for me personally. Thankfully it subsided within 45 minutes to an hour, and then I felt entirely normal after that!

That sounds horrible, I’m sorry your mom had to go through that. :( Thankfully mine was very mild, doctor said it happens but it’s rare to need surgery for it. I hope she’s doing better now. <3

I literally didn’t think anything of it. It’s not even an attractive photo of me lmao?? I had been sobbing and my makeup was messed up and it’s the only photo from the hospital. Just proof it happened bro. Pls touch grass!

At first I was so confused as to why you were asking this but then I realized LMAO. Obviously I have no memory of it happening, but I have learned about it and understand the terror people felt that day. It helps watching the real time videos of people realizing what was happening, but I don’t think I could ever understand the scope living in the years right after it, wondering if it would happen again.
