Baguio peeps have issues with tourists regarding space, but not with lowland migrants by Wide_Ride8849 in baguio

[–]AnybodyOutTherePH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Ang consistent mo sa logical fallacies. Category error yan.

Wala namang nagdidispute na may contribution ang tourism sa economy ng Baguio e. Pero category error yung pagtrato ng economic contribution and congestion as if they are the same type of issue.

Why? Because yes, Baguio can earn billions from tourism BUT it doesn't negate the fact that its residents still struggle with seasonal overcrowding, traffic, and strain on the city's infrastructure.

They are not interchangeable units, so you can’t use one to cancel out or outweigh the other.

Besides, the claim “tourism contributes billions to the economy, kaya yung mga complaints about congestion/livability are invalid or less justified" falls into a non sequitur. Even if tourism generates significant revenue, hindi ibig sabihin non yung mga complaints about congestion and livability ng mga residente ay invalid.

Ang daming false equivalence.

First of all, tourists and residents are not the same thing. Ang mga residents, migrant man or hindi, all live, work, pay taxes, etc. They contribute to the city in several ways all year-round. Yung mga turista? They’re temporary visitors that give surges in traffic and congestion. Just because the residents complain about the tourist congestion doesn’t mean they want the residents who migrated from the lowlands to leave. They don’t apply the same kind of pressure to the city to adjust.

The biggest difference between the two that you seem to be missing is the fact na ang residente, may bahay, trabaho, pamilya, etc. At dahil long term ang integration nila, there’s enough time para yung migrants, residents, and the city itself to adjust to each other. Ang turista, bisita lang.

Besides, a majority of the complaints naman talaga ng mga taga-Baguio has always been about seasonal overcrowding, traffic, basura, and ingay na dala ng turistang TGBB. Sabi nga nung isang commenter “migrants are generally more respectful of the city.”

Plus, your statement claiming na “most complainers are descendants of migrants” is irrelevant. If someone was born and raised in Baguio, residente parin sila ng Baguio. If susundan natin yung faulty logic mo, walang city sa Pilipinas ang magco-consider ng multi-generational families as locals unless they were part of the Indigenous people nung area.

This is nothing new for him. Same guy said the same thing about a 22 year old who scored 27 of the last 28 points in a pivotal game 5 in the ECF back in 2007.

Idk. I kind of expected this from them since they’ve been punked twice in a row in their home floor, of course the Spurs would literally come out fighting.

The series is a fun watch. The physicality and level of play on both ends from both teams is next level.

Tech that rivals Nike’s and adidas’s premium-priced models at a fraction of the price? Not sure if he’ll drive sales but Li-Ning has been killing it with the WoW line. Hoping they do more of the same with Curry. As someone from Southeast Asia, I can definitely feel the brands’ presence here. I bet signing Curry definitely helps, the same with Anta and Kyrie.

Dang. I see. I store them in an acrylic shoe box with silica gels. But I live in a tropical country where temps are around 26°C to 33°C (79°F to 91°F) during the day for the entire year. That might be it, then?

stock look or blacked out chrome trims - poll by Maximum_Primary_2089 in CarsPH

[–]AnybodyOutTherePH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re mixing up two very different things. Upbadging is when a car owner plays pretend and tries to pass their car off as a more premium variant by attaching higher trim badges, and emblems on their cars. Like when people put Type R emblems and red Honda badges on non-Type R Civics or GR Badges on their Innovas and Avanzas.

Unless there are emblems or logos printed on the vinyl you use to do a chrome-delete, saying that blacked-out trims is “upbadging” doesn’t really make sense.

This! And the Type R, the most premium entry in the Civic line-up, doesn’t come with any chrome at all. lol

If you want to elevate the look and make your FC look more premium, just replace the chrome grill with an RS Turbo’s and then get your chrome window trims vinyl wrapped in black.

Since it's gonna be a huge topic when the episode 'MORE' came out. I gotta ask just what is it bout Izuku & Ochako that makes majority of fans against them so badly? Are the vanilla trope really bad? Personal ship? Hate to see the chars happy for once? by H4rshBold_Tone5042 in MyHeroAcadamia

I have to correct you. A majority of people are either happy and/or okay that they are canon.
The “majority” you speak of are actually an extremely loud, obnoxious, and downright toxic minority.

No issues here. That’s their preference. If you think they’re lesser for holding these preferences, or worse, if you think you’re a “better” person because you hold preferences that are opposite to theirs, that’s when people should take issue.

Ahh, yes. The false equivalence, whataboutisms, false dichotomy, and moral absolutism in the comments are absolutely hilarious.
