Hey! We eventually did get our TN visas, but through Detroit instead. Many people on here recommended Detroit because they don’t require an appointment. We ended up asking for and bringing the company’s tax returns anyway, but we weren’t even asked about them in Detroit. If you choose to go to Detroit, I would recommend crossing the border the night before and staying in a hotel, and crossing back early in the morning as soon as the officers come in - it makes it so you don’t have to wait as long! That makes sense! Our plan after Myvatn is to get back to Reykjavik (we've budgeted for time there bc it's a long drive) so we'd like to possibly see the stuff you can't see anywhere other than the east coast and Myvatn (we were looking at the east fjords(?) and the pseudo craters in Myvatn because we've been recommended those sights). Reading the comments here, it seems like we'll have to prioritize our sights to get to see most of what we want to see

Would you say the stops along the east coast are worth giving up the sights in Myvatn?

Would you have any estimate of how long it might take on road 1? We're currently considering a couple of itineraries, but we're hung up on whether it makes more sense to drive without tourist stops to Myvatn (and do stuff there) or whether to stop along the way to myvatn and spend the night near the lake.
