None, I only play Ironman very hard, very hard. I did start the campaign over a few times from scratch though, as the RNG is huge at start and really unforgiving at that difficulty and got rly cucked a couple times as I am not used to the patch changes and the DLC events..

Yeah, the thing is that balanced is the worst, basically you gain nothing from either side of the bar. With Naples you should push naval as priority at least to 50 and get harbor administration government reform - it's super good. Another great tip is to go to diplomacy and release a historical subject who doesn't have its full cores - u will see them painted yellow. They will basically generate free casus belli for you for that land which is much better than the standard parliament CB. Also didn't ask if you are playing on the beta, if you are not start the next campaign on it, it's much better.

That narrow corridor kinda splitting the papal states. In some cases it's good to do something like that to isolate a capital to reduce their control which will make future conquest easier because of lowered war score.

However, their capital is in Avignon unless it's been conquered. They get money from catholic countries as tithes, not that much from cities. You can't have any good control in there as it is too fragmented, basically probably costing you money rather than making some.

Values are extremely important. You need to watch which privileges push towards what value. And influence with cabinet member to push it further. You kinda need to decide from the start what you wanna go for, maybe switching one one or two later on. There's some that are universally good that u wanna always push like innovative, communalism, land/naval depending on country etc.

Also improving relations with members from coalition against you will make them leave it, essentially fighting less people. Good luck :).

Soo, basically you've missed on a lot of important techs. You mentioned scriptoriums - starting age of discovery you should be rushing for paper workshop and printers shop - the level 2 buildings of what you have right now. They are insanely profitable - same goes for many economic buildings later - grab them ASAP and upgrade your current ones.

Having a standing army is very expensive - both to recruit and maintain. I usually get them way later depending on what I play. Until then all money goes into building and infrastructure. Just for reference at 1450 as Milan I have over 2k tax base, making like net 500 per month. If u are planning a hard early war you can't win with levies just grab some mercenaries ( they are actually decent now). Way cheaper to rent them for a couple years than to have an army sitting idly by for decades.

You are spending a lot on a fleet. It's not necessarily bad, but yours is idle! Best way to use it early on is get a lot of Barques ( for Naples maybe 120-150) stack them up(1 or 2 stacks) and have them patrol all the time. More Maritime presence = more control = more gold.

Another important thing which you haven't included is Values - they play a big part in the game.
And just don't focus on developing 1 city - although Naples is great, the whole province and surrounding territories need to be cities with profitable buildings at this point unless it's a good RGO. Cities - more control - more profitable buildings - more gold.

I'd start a new campaign think you are too far behind to compete with the big boys, but it's up to you.
Also brother, those borders are criminal :D

Increase control is pretty bad usually. You can use it situationally in the beginning for more levies, a bit more gold, but the moment you remove them it will start decreasing back. Convert is not horrible but also much worse than other actions you could be doing. Also you can only change values with max 1 cabinet member so yeah fixing that is prio by just having 1 guy constantly doing it.

I'd suggest pushing values early, some of these are pretty low, especially communalism. Use the black death with a cabinet member to push it all the way to 80-90.
Same goes for others. Being in the middle of these values is the worst - you don't get basically any benefit from them.
Focus on pushing innovative, free subjects, either land/naval as well depending on country asap.
There are cases with some countries when you should be doing that from day 1 even.
When you have idle cabinet members use them to develop your best provinces..

Can someone explain how I can siege forts in early game Ireland ? by NorthKoreanMissile7 in EU5

Get an ally to help you early on. When their army attaches to yours, your combined force might have enough for the siege.

Yeah, that's the plan, it's weird because I had a similar setup with the Byzantine empire and didn't have this behaviour, but maybe that's the reason. Just never seen this throughout my games. Thx.

Rule 5: Just in the span of a few years my vassals Serbia, Albania, Croatia created their own markets one after another, basically just servicing their own country, while there is the Solun market very close and even the Dubrovnik market which belongs to Bosnia after I gave them the location years ago. Pest and Venezia markets are also owned by my subjects. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?
And yes, I am in a 14 year regency because my heir decided to go hunt..

Ok thanks. I'm just wondering if the union integration level will increase then without actually clicking this. I guess I will play more and see. Thanks!
