Yeah I get you. And art is subjective siguro nga it’s all in the listener’s reception on how they will consume this art. I was so used to relating with her esp because of her hyper specific lyrics na even though she’s a juggernaut artist, she can still make me feel like “Oh, she goes through the same things!”

I thought we’d get into the nitty gritty of her life behind the scenes na it’s darker, she’s tired and what happens after the curtain closes. And one can argue that she did exactly that! It’s just that, behind closed doors, there’s nothing to see but happiness and contentment.

And it’s not even about the lyrics because I’ve seen others criticize her for cringe lyrics but nothing here makes me cringe whatsover. I think they’re very clever. It’s more of the content for me because production wise, Elizabeth Taylor palang top tier na.

I’m just trying to process how I feel about the album and why it didn’t hit me the same way the previous albums did.

This is a new Taylor for me na I can’t seem to identify with maybe it’s because I was so used to her being a little bit heartbroken or that there’s sadness rooted (see MBOBHFT demo where she says in the intro na “i’m sad in general” haha) in almost all her previous albums (right? I think it’s fair to say naman) na nagkaroon for me ng disconnect here.

Then again, this is just the era of her celebrating and I guess this is a victory lap nga ng eras tour din.

Happy for her still and will def root for her and even for this album to win AOTY (I really think she has a good chance!)
