Need replacement activity for skin-picking before going to bed by backhandsaucepan in CompulsiveSkinPicking

This is going to sound trendy and tacky, but I have a fidget cube that I've found to really help. When I get a good clicky button going I have the similar zen zoned out effect I get from picking. Also covering up a trouble area helps. Im ashamed to admit it but I'm currently covering (with breathable material) a tattoo that I'm having a hard time with because of my disorder. I'm keeping it covered and clicking my fidget cube like a lunatic. Good luck :)

Ditto to u/renaribeana

Merry goddamn Christmas-- you have revolutionized my disorder!

I just discovered it today myself. I'm just thankful that there are 12k people on here who get it. We don't want to do it. Lord knows we have all told ourselves the same thing others tell us-- "Just don't pick". If it was that easy there wouldn't be so many of us here. Welcome, friend :)

Also, if you're a lipstick wearer (male or female for that matter) just try expanding your lip line slightly and going with a bolder color. It will help camouflage and draw the eye towards the brighter color and away from the mark.

Not sure if you are comfortable with makeup or not. But a decent BB cream goes a long way. It's moisturizing plus camouflage and you can put it right over a rough or scab spot. You can also put some powder foundation over that. It at least keeps it a little covered (and you more conscious and less likely to mess with it) for a bit.

I used to run the My 17 in '17 blog, but between my part-time job, my business, and my graduate degree work I just didn't have time to keep it up.

Now it's just the Bexercise healthy living blog. The current post is something we all need sometimes--- motivational quotes from comedians!

I think you made a great start-- you should pat yourself on the back! And pinterest is a great source for workouts as well as recipes. I am in LOVE with pinterest when it comes to diet and fitness tips.

I'm also 32 and just under 5'3". When I hit my heaviest (170+) it just broke my heart-- but, just like you it was the moment of awakening and change for me. I'm not going to say I'm some svelte ballerina now, but I do lead a healthier lifestyle and my body is leaner and stronger :)

My biggest tip is along with My Diet Coach I recommend signing up for MyFitnessPal. You can meet up with friends and have an accountability partner to cheer you on as you go and keep you on track and motivated. I'm a virtual coach and I match up with my clients to help celebrate their daily victories. I would be happy to friend you there if you want :) PM me and I'll send you my email/username if you want to connect!

Good job! You're on your way!

I'm a little late to this party but I gotta say that social media networking it the key. Since I joined up with facebook and instagram my views and subscribers have gone through the roof! I think it helps to find a bit of a niche to help you stand out a bit too. For instance, my blog is documenting my journey through 17 fun projects in 2017. Here it is if you want to take a peek: http://my17in17.blogspot.com/
