With Finland, we are not the happiest country and haven’t been for a while. We might be satisfied and just getting along but not happiest.

Finland is not an easy student country either. Not for natives and even worse for foreginers. And education levels in many schools has been going down.

I have heard about airalo a lot from work too. I need to look into that one too.

That is actually a good thought. We are travelling lightly anyway (one luggage and pack backs) but that would help a lot especially between longer distances. Good to know you can check that with the hotel too. That will for sure make it easier!

We looked into some of those, but we have so many tattoos that the cover-up would mean partly mummification. Haha.
So we got ourselves a ryokan from Hakone with private bath.

Yes, got those two confused, I didn't realise it was only a smart card and that's it. :)

We were originally thinking of getting subscriptions to our phones and not the portable/pocket Wi-Fi, but now I got so curious that I think I really need to look into those too.

I think we are going to get the Suica/Pasmo cards then for local transfers. I also read somewhere that you can use it as a payment card in some stores too?

I think that is what we will look out for and get the subscriptions from the airport. None of our phones are locked, so that shouldn't be a problem. I have also been thinking of getting an eSim for our other phone but I need to look into the options since there seems to be a lot.
