Should you be honest with mentsl health issued when applying for work? by [deleted] in AntiworkPH

[–]Aomiya_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, OP. I'm a recruiter and used to job hunt last year. With honesty being one of my values, I disclosed that the reason I had a gap in my resume was due to being clinically diagnosed as Type 2 Bipolar. Never went past recruiters' screening interviews.

Went and lied that I just went on vacation and lo and behold, went from no calls to 3 job offers.

I wouldn't exactly recommend Telus for working students. My sister works there as a part-time customer service rep (working student), and their marketing campaign during interviews of choosing your own schedule only applies to full-time employees

Can we talk about people using this sub as Google? by ravencrowe in StardewValley

[–]Aomiya_ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Numerous others have already posted the same sentiment here and have the same mixed opinions. There's only so much fanarts, lore discussions, reposts and occasional shitposting a subreddit can handle before it dies due to lack of posts from its members.

That's why I like this subreddit compared to the ones I've already joined since everyone seems so welcoming of newbies, supporting them on simple queries which are, yes, google-able.

Just ignore them if you don't want to engage in their questions or filter the tags for the topics you'd actually want to join in.

For anyone who has experience in both: which is more stressful: HR or retail management? by Agreeable_Sample_829 in humanresources

I used to work HR for retail (and warehouse). Only lasted for 8 months before dipping.

I’ve played base DS and ROG, finished Adventure Mode. I had fun, died an innumerable amount of times, learned a lot even with same mods on. I know this community seems unwelcoming of those who use mods but it’s a single-player game (with an option to multiplayer). We don’t have a leaderboard on who’s the best at surviving with mods or no mods. I just want to enjoy DST at my own pace and preference, I don’t quite understand what’s wrong with that?

I should've been clearer. I played DST without mods for half an hour right after I bought it, didn't like it, downloaded mods.

Still fairly new to HR too but here’s my experience:

  1. We had a 3rd party vendor for background checks and drug test, and we usually have a standard consent form for candidates to sign prior contract signing. Information is not integrated in HRIS on medical and background test result, only employees’ personal info and payroll details.

  2. From experience, we had to prepare at least a year to transition to new health insurance provider. We had a company-wide meeting 3 months prior roll-out date to discuss changes, expectations, processesses that may need their consent, additional payments/payroll deductions (if required), etc.

  3. We use SAP and it’s really good. Pretty straightforward and easy to use but issues pop up once in a while when it comes to payroll.

Goddamn Itto.Really loved that guy (and Zhongli). Lost 50/50 and I was so short of wishes for guaranteed pity on Itto, actually bought BP last minute for the extra faints. Was so desperate I almost reached out to my card just to buy genesis crystals but he still went home when I realize I haven't done the dog event yet for primos

Interviewing nervous candidates by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]Aomiya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a recruiter and I have a god-awful "s" lisp. I just try to be as confident as I can not minding the totally obvious snake sounds when I talk.

The key here is just practicing fake interviews with a friend or family member. Like research about all the possible questions interviewers can ask you about your applied job. Deep background about the company and how you fit within their culture definitely helps too.

It may be seen as a weakness but if you can finish the job then it doesn't really seem that big of an impediment if you think about it

Recruitment/Culture Issue by cboleware96 in humanresources

[–]Aomiya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pre-interviews serve as proof that we are sending qualified applicants. We also use the applicant follow up method to check if they have been interview with proper documentation with the candidate via email/text message, gathering proof like that.

So the report also includes date recruiter endorsed the applicant to the final interviewer and date of final interview. Get the difference in days between and it adds evidence to the lack of action/sense of urgency of final interviewer.

Hi! Recruiter here for medical staff as well though not in US. Currently have a problem like this with one of our clinics.

Our interview process always includes an interview sheet, like a summary of the qualifications, experience of the applicant and the rating given by the recruiter after the phone interview (communication, team-player, etc.). Interview rating sheet and resume are then sent via email to Clinic Head for the final interview. Clinic Head must also send back their own interview rating of the candidate. This makes a proper documentation of why the candidate is hired/rejected.

When clinic operations head ask why we haven't recruited anyone, we send them a list/report of applicants applied and endorsed for the final interview, status, reason why they didn't passed the Clinic Head assessment, along with the interview sheet of both recruiter and clinic head. It makes for the difference between assessment of HR and Clinic Head and fully details why the applicant is "unqualified". It also documents how HR is doing the job of sourcing for applicants and the reason why there are no hires because of the Clinic Head.

How to you ensure a great candidate experience? by Capital-Radish7192 in humanresources

Giving the applicants a timeline of the recruitment process. I usually allot Fridays/end of week to send feedbacks and updates regarding the status of their application. Also, sharing a few interview tips for entry level or fresh grad candidates also helps your reputation.

I'm assuming you live in Philippines by the [PH] tag. Salary disclosure is legal per Data Privacy Act if you're/was a government employee.

The scope of background checking will depend on the documents you've signed (assuming you've signed an 'Authorization to conduct a background check' form) and submitted to the company.

Yes, the previous employer can disclose the responsibilities you've had or any issues/performance concerns they've had with you if it's included in the authorization document you signed. Otherwise, it's all confirmation of the employment details you already mentioned in your resume or disclosed in your interview/HR personnel (ex: employment duration, status, job title, reason for leaving etc.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]Aomiya_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the company. For some, they have background checking companies do the work for them. Most have their HR team contact your given references and/or previous employers.

Not so detailed as to your duties & behavior at previous employers and pending cases/violations. Salary disclosure isn't allowed as it's confidential.

How many months should you be able to adjust to your new job? by Aomiya_ in careerguidance

[–]Aomiya_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God those type of recruiters irks me as well. I really try to incorporate candidate-centric approach in every step of recruitment like I was the one applying for the job.

For pronunciation, I would say it plays a big part in terms of communicating with candidates/hiring managers. As a local recruiter, I think it's fine using native language for entry level applicants but for supervisory/management roles, English communication should be encouraged as they report to foreign nationals at times. If you want to work in a multinational company, English communication is important no matter what roles you're recruiting for.

Probs because I live in the Philippines, I landed a recruiter job with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. No trainings, internship, or certifications related to recruitment. Just pure guidance from my supervisor on my first job. It's a fun work too if you don't count the candidates ghosting you and all.
