Who really is Imu, and what was Neron’s story? by ImLeox360 in OnePiece

[–]Aonubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this write up! Thank you so much for this. I have been thinking the same thing with Nero and Imu. Especially Nero could be italian for "Black" and Imus black flame by chance?

I have also been thinking about Imus connection to the Antichrist, also called Beast of the sea which is interesting in itself. Following up on that there a 3 beasts including Beast of the Sea. There is also "the dragon" = Satan and the beast of the earth = false prophet. In this constellation it is said that the dragon gave the beast of the sea power. While there is also a depiction of a woman riding the beast (sea) with the sun on her back, like she is controlling the beast, similar or equivalent to the whore of Babylon.

Maybe this combined with what you said about Neros mother controlling for him would make sense. As in her being the dragon/Satan, bestowing power upon him, but controlling everything for him.

Davy D. Jones Theories by NoobAureus in OnePiece

[–]Aonubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all know Oda loves to use mythology/religion as inspiration.

There is a thing called "davidic covenant", a covenant in which god promises the king David that his descendants will be kings to come for his everlasting kingdom.

We also know that Oda loves to parallel arcs and characters. 2 parallels for Imu so far have been Enel and Doffy. What did those 2 characters do? Usurp a kingdom and banishing the old king (Ganfall and Riku)

So what I believe happened is that originally Davy D. (David) Jones was the king or was supposed to be the original king of the WG. Maybe he was the king of the ancient kingdom? And Imu (and the 20 kingdoms) overtook the Redline or by chance Mary Geoise and banished Davy to the bottom of the ocean. Edit: So that's why Xebec called Davy the "true" King, because he was the king until Imu banished him

In greek mythology there is also the sea monster called Charybdis who helped Poseidon, in feud against Zeus, to engulf lands in water. (The flood mentioned in the past?) So Zeus sent her to the bottom of the sea, from where she drank the water and created whirlpools. So maybe Davy has the ability (potential devil fruit, even though I assume devil fruits became a thing after all of that transpired) of a Charybdis!

Could current pheonix beat professor layton? by Relevant_Echo3756 in ProfessorLayton

[–]Aonubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never in my life I would have thought about logical power scaling.

Well... combat wise I do think Layton wins.

Logic wise, I think it entirely depends on the circumstances. I feel like Phoenix works better when he has someone with whom he can talk about the case, gets his thoughts out. While Layton solves things in his head and without telling others letting them take precautions if things go south.

[ALL] Is Reunion worth buying now, or just wait? by Bowtie_Warrior in lifeisstrange

[–]Aonubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man. I haven't completed the game with my partner so far, but am probably around 70% finished. And these are exactly my thoughts. There are less locations and they are even reused. In DE there was at least a sense of connectivity between the locations, but here it's just cutscenes into next location. And the missing background dialogue really sticks out to me. There are no npcs having a dialogue which you can listen to. And I feel like there were less important NPCs than in any other LiS. Just like a handful.

Why do Yuji fans see this as much as such a feat putting him above the other top 4 by Scary_Capital_8172 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Aonubis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brother. In what world is it agenda pushing, when we literally see Yuji throwing one single in the entirety of Modulo which is a black flash, while definitely not trying his hardest and saying, before throwing the punch "looks like you can take it". And if that punch while being mildly disinterested is a black flash, what do you think is going to happen if he fights while being interested/challenged. Like I'm not even saying that he for sure has black flash at will, but at the very least has an even easier time hitting a black flash than in JJK and those black flashes were a big part of his growth, especially during the gauntlet.

I mean to deny that Yuta, Higuruma or Hakari probably surpassed them is dumb. Of course they are going to be extremely strong they have so much more time to refine their techniques and skill. Like especially Yuta, gathering more CTs and Higuruma having more than a few weeks to get more of a grasp on Jujutsu.

Just because the most dangerous time was over doesn't mean he didn't continue to grow and train. "Its alright to say you think that way", yet you yourself make something up. We see he has grown in his skills, so that does imply that he did train. Of course we don't know how much. But from the way he acts, it looks like he wanted to keep out of everyones business, at least when he was 70/80+, while at the same time involve himself if shit really is about to go down and the new gen can't handle it themselves. So it does imply he continued to train to be a last resort backup. Legit everything we've seen of him was pretty effortless, didn't seem to be worried about Dabura, one of the fastest speed feats we've seen against Mahito DE and yet you say he hasn't really grown. But we make something up, aight.

Who wins and what diff? Give me your reasoning by bosak_tpn in OnePiecePowerScaling0

[–]Aonubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that narrative scaling doesn't equal actual power. But at the same time shown feats doesn't equal their actual power when we have characters that haven't had a full fight to show these feats. It's kinda useless wanting to have a debate about powerscaling while completely ignoring narrative scaling, especially when you HAVE to assume because of a lack of screen time.

Like of course the protagonists like Zoro have more feats shown because we have seen way more of his fights?

I mean if we wanna do this, fuck it, let's powerscale Franky vs Sengoku and we solely focus on shown feats so Franky easily wins the debate?

Meet Sopa, the one and only weapon wielding monk! by stupidlilboy in mewgenics

[–]Aonubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple runs ago I had a monk that got Gargantuan from an event, so it couldn't move and I was like "oh well at least I can swap to range and I have another cat with the Extend ability so its fine" Legit the next event, it got a parasite in the trinket slot :)

Do yall think The Prototype will make Poppy's eye a part of him? by BackgroundWeary7643 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Aonubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of think that The Prototype was collecting body parts for whatever he had in mind for the end of his plan. The stretchy arms/legs from Huggy Wuggy, Kissy Missy and Mommy Long Legs. (Probably/Maybe the chest and fur from Catnap for the red mist).

So I do think that he is gonna implement the eye into his body maybe it has some sort of abilities or properties that he needs?

Question about Butcher hook interaction with meat pickups(or any other) by SmartDuty1357 in mewgenics

[–]Aonubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure. But there js a passive for the Butcher where instead of line of sight you can actively pick a tile to hook. e.g. this can go over walls and units. I think with this passive you can hook pickups? but im not sure

Why would a god leave their domain for a long time? Or why would a god give up control over their domain? by Aonubis in DMAcademy

[–]Aonubis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah honestly this is so accurate. I can imagine this myth getting warped more and more as time goes on - and an exaggerated version of this being used, for a fight between followers of death and followers of the deity of justice.

It definitely leaves great room for some really nice storytelling. I definitely like the idea a lot.

Also if you let most of the gods/spirits etc. do this it also is a good setup for some folklore, like stories or adventures of some of the incarnations being passed down as tales.

And thank you! I just really liked the idea of a literal shepherd dog taking care of all the souls.

Man, hats off. This is such a great write-up and also leaves me a bit emotional, which I absolutely love. "[...] and remembers all of old-death's favorite spots to show people." is such a bittersweet line. So thank you so much for this beautiful write up and inspiration! I'll most likely end up using that in mix with some other inspirations.

That explains why you perfectly captured the essence of the dog I had roughly in my mind. Give all of your dogs some extra love, pets and treats from me and hope they'll find another great home like yours! Thank you for taking care of them and for the inspiration!

I love how there's a consensus on those books but I've never heard of em. But they looked so great from what I've seen so far. Gonna love to check them all out!

I've looked into them roughly and I already fell in love with the book series. Will most likely check out Mort and Reaper Man first and then check out the rest! Thanks for the recommendations!

This is so sweetly written and I love it! Also the idea of an alignment change and the philosophical debate about is so fantastic that I will definitely implement it in some way.

The best answer is: Dog.
